Nothing is better than Spotify - even when other services are streaming lossless. Actually the high bitrate from Spotify does not spoil the fun of analytical listening. It is not pure but still , a great service. The intefrace is second to none.
Finally we can see more and more Hi Fi speakers ( still not so many ) which serve acoustical adjustments like the JBL 4309 Studio Monitor with UHF trimmer. 90% of all Hi Fi speakers are missing these features what makes them unsuitable for room adjustments and are the nightmare for audiophiles...
Cds are magical - Vinyl too. People will always have tendency for sth. to keep in their hands + Art Cover BUT one thing...when I spoke the other day to a 19 year old chap he told me "I do not own a single CD not Vinyl - they are just not my generation" so I think CDs / Vinyl will be going on...
The HiFi actually is a trap itself. I mean - you need to be really careful - the biggest impact is your room acoustics on a given piece of HiFi especially loudspeakers. You can buy a 50 pound stereo and be totally glad with it whereas you can buy a 3000 pound stereo and be totally put off by it...
No - radio still sounds better - hehe....but I listened to radio on this Mark Levinson system too.. ;) Radio sounds always good and still I am not changing my point of view that this is the best medium for music. But if I had 8000 now to spend I would in 99,9% go for Mark Levinson system.
From...
If "Mark Levinson" HiFi home systems are as good as their brand new system in my friend's new car - then I think I could stick to the brand straight off forever ;) . If we speak Hi Fi then this company sound is simply breathtaking. I don't think I ever heard so realistically reproduced voices...
I owned Leema Acoustics speakers twice. No matter how much you're gonna calibrate them you simply cannot. These are fantastic speakers at first but after a longer while the substanial dips in frequencies are simply too much. They have sweet treble but their crossover and bass reflex is wrongly...
I just kinda diverted - that's it. Maybe I shouldn't. Right. Anyway I feel free to express here whatever I want in terms of audio - if that does not offend anyone. So I do not really care if that is bizzare or not. I presume your posts are 100% normal , right ?
The thing with Hi Fi is - you buy a system costing 5k only to hear than another one costing 2k sounds as good as yours.
From my experience if you really need to and can afford to buy or invest in an amp and hear the great difference is to buy a new Accuphase. Here I can say - wow that makes a...
GREAT answer ! Exactly - I wanted to add to this 2 things. Firstly - DavidF is absolutely right that the problem of the HiFi separates is just many customers buy wrong not suitable to each other components - absolutely true. Plus, one can buy stuff without any hints as the second hand from Ebay...
David , yes I agree with your point of view too and your techie knowledge. Let me then strip everything off and I will try to describe shortly what I really mean.
There is no doubt that a small radio cannot compete with serious Hi Fi in terms of precision of the sound. But the whole point is...
Nice and very good answer - really up to the point...actually the company looks indeed really interesting. Maybe lack of crossover is the solution.

...but the thing is radio also sounds good on 2 way speakers....by the way.
