I have a Quad 34 preamp and a Quad 606 power amp. On the reverse of the preamp there are two options for output to the amp. One is 5v, the other 1.6 (although it might be 16v, it's not clear). Does anyone know which output I should choose. Thanks. Simon

I have concluded that I'm probably getting as good quality as I can, apart from spending huge amounts on upgrading. I use wi-fi, not bluetooth, and, as others have said, the phone is not the issue, if there is even an issue. Thanks for all the comments and suggestions, very interesting and useful.

So, pardon my lack of technical nous, are we saying that the android when used with the Wiim pro plus, is the best I can do? It is pretty good, but I was wondering if an upgrade of some sort is possible.

The phone uses wi-fi, not bluetooth. The files are held on the phone, so my query relates to whether the files would provide better quality if a different phone was used, or a completely different type of device.

Spoke too soon! I'm still getting the tracks jumping, now on every track. I guess that's not the Wiim, rather the wi-fi connection or the phone?

That was my understanding of what DCarmi was saying. Because the Topping needs the power from the phone it's not possible to use both together (if I bypass the Wiim DAC by connecting the Topping it will not have a power source). The flac files are on the phone and are streamed through my wifi...

Thanks, DCarmi. The problem with that is that the Topping is powered by the Samsung through the same input usb, it doesn't have an independent power supply.
