Which album would you play first on the famous Bowers & Wilkins speakers at Abbey Road Studios?

Discussed here on the forum https://forums.whathifi.com/threads/b-w-and-formats.131889/ And lest there be accusations of this being hearsay - straight from the horse's mouth...

Which album would you play first on the famous Bowers & Wilkins speakers at Abbey Road Studios?

Given B&W's avowed, yet only recently revealed, dislike of CD, I'd say, anything on CD. And I do mean anything

Question CD player with gapless playback

It's interesting when shills reviewers on Youtube promoting reviewing the SMSL PL100 CD player get caught out by it not playing CD gapless. The responses follow a similar pattern; "I don't have any gapless CD's to test on it" Followed by "Is gapless a requirement of the Red Book Standard"...

Playing a SACD through my Audiolab 6000A play

Not if you set it to use the SACD layer of the disc.

Playing a SACD through my Audiolab 6000A play

Couple things to note; if you buy either of the Sony players I've suggested is that there is a remote control clash with your UDP-800MK2. They all use the same RC5 codes. Doesn't bother me because they are different rooms. Second, you need to set the player to default to the SACD layer and...

Playing a SACD through my Audiolab 6000A play

I think you're getting confused as to what I'm suggesting. By buying another cheap, second hand Sony blu-ray player, then all the original poster needs to do, is run a phono cable from the back of the stereo out of the said player and plug the other end into a spare analogue socket on the back...

Playing a SACD through my Audiolab 6000A play

Might be worth checking out this thread over on the Steve Hoffman forums, But, the easiest way as already mentioned is to buy a a cheap second hand Sony Blu ray player. I'd recommend a Sony BDP-S490 or a Sony BDP-S570 (I own both), because of their....er "flexibility"

New Ruark cd transport - R-CD100

The inference being that ones that don't make a noise are abnormal, so any player which is quiet is faulty. Having experienced similar gaslighting with Marantz, I'd be cutting my losses and getting something else.

    Marantz CD 17Mk2

Is it a KI Signature? If so, I'd save your money. Or, find a cooperative Dealer who sells Cyrus CD players, bring your player along and do a comparison.

    New denon x4800h humming sound

My experience of Denon / Marantz service echoes the "it's supposed to do that" and the one's which don't do it are, in fact faulty I wish you good luck dealing with them,.

    Panasonic UB820 4k player

I own one of these players. It plays Atmos bluray discs fine.

    Panasonic UB820 4k player

The Panasonic can't play SACDs. May not be a show stopper, but it can't do it.
