I have a feeling you're very right about this... I become obsessed when it comes to choosing the right headphones so I can imagine that will translate over to Hi-Fi speakers as well!
Thanks for your advice! I actually believe you were the guy who told me to ditch the Logitech sub in a post I made here a few months ago, when I was trying to figure out if I could hold onto that sub and combine it with a pair of Hi-Fi speakers. Indeed you were right, there is no point combining...
Indeed that sounds about right :ROFLMAO: Which makes me feel as though it's such a shame that I can't combine my current sub with whatever set of speakers I do end up going for...
I think I'm starting to lean towards the Q 3030i's that someone recommended earlier, along with the NAD 320BEE amp...
Wow thanks a lot for your really detailed advice, this is going to give me a great starting point for my research!
As for the bass, I should probably have clarified that yeah, I'm not expecting to get proper powerful bass. I know where my budget lies in the 'budget spectrum'; it's relatively...
Sorry I should have clarified, I'm looking for bookshelf speakers due to the dimensions/space of the room that they'll be used in. That said, speaker size set aside would I really be better off looking for older 'vintage' speakers as opposed to buying newer models? Especially for bass? I would...
I'm looking to upgrade my current set-up. I have a Logitech Z533 2.1 subwoofer and speaker set-up right now, and this has quite frankly been brilliant for my listening needs. I listen to a lot of music that is stronger in the lower frequency range (drum'n'bass, bass house, classic dubstep and...
Ultimately, all I want is the best listening experience for music tailored towards the lower frequencies. I'm not an expert here, so if someone who knows more than I do were to suggest something better than what I was thinking, of course I'd be up for trying that. The reason I wanted to hold...
Sounds like this might be my best option then!
I'll be spending some time looking for a suitable amp, and then I'll update this thread with whether or not it worked once I have it all set up.
Thanks for your help all 😁
Thanks for your replies guys.
So we can safely rule out that these won't work by plugging the wharfedales into the sub, fair enough they won't get enough power to make it worth it. What about plugging the sub into an amp that the speakers are also connected to? Surely this would bypass that...
So perhaps a good option would be to replace the stock satellite logitech speakers with the wharfedales for now, and then research a good amp/receiver to connect the sub and wharfedale to when I have the budget for it...
How would I connect the subwoofer to a standalone amp though? The sub...
Thanks for your reply Gray, its reassuring that it is possible to connect the wharfedales to my sub!
If I did connect the Wharfedales to this sub, why would they not realise their full potential? Wouldn't the sub remove the need for the wharfedales to emit lower frequency bass lines, thus...
Hey all,
I currently have a Logitech Z533 subwoofer + satellite speakers unit, but I have been thinking about upgrading the left and right satellite speakers that came with it to a better quality pair. Each speaker has a cable that connects to a left/right channel input as shown in the...
