    Poor centre speaker sound

Thanks for that. The centre speaker is a KEF reference model which needs to be driven hard. I use the Marantz power amp for centre and surround duties only as I have separate power amp for the front channels. All drivers in the centre speaker are working correctly.

    Poor centre speaker sound

Hi, I have an Onkyo PRSC886 processor connected to a Marantz MMC 7055 power amp through balanced interconnects, but despite keeping the centre out put to the maximum, the volume tends to be low especially with Sky. I managed to get one of those small signal boosters which I have connected to...

    Splitting a HDMI signal

Doesn't your receiver have two HDMI outputs? One should output 1080p and the other 1080i. Connect the TV to the 1080p output and the other to sky. You will lose HD audio if you use a splitter from your blu ray.

    Processors and multi-channel amps.

I recently bought an Onkyo PRSC 886 AV processor (£1050 on e-bay!) which is a definite improvement on my previous Rotel processor. It sounds especially good in stereo through balanced connections. There is a Marantz MM 8003 for sale(ex-demo) for £800 by Sevenoaks Glasgow, which would be an...

    New blu-ray player upgrade.

BD 80 (akin to BD55) should give you better sound, but not better picture. I did upgrade to BD 55 a few months ago and there is definite improvement in sound while listening through my Onkyo PRCSC 886 AV processor.

    Upgrading to 7.1 home cinema.

Apparently, Bose people in India did not have a clue ! I will try Bose UK. Or go in to their factory in Co. Monaghan in Ireland directly and ask them ! I live in N. Ireland.

    Upgrading to 7.1 home cinema.

Any experts on Bose capable of further input? Thanks

    Upgrading to 7.1 home cinema.

Thanks very much for that. In fact, I had told him likewise, but wasn't entirely sure.

    Upgrading to 7.1 home cinema.

I wonder if anyone could help out with this problem encountered by my friend in India. He has a pioneer VSXD 2011 AV amp connected to Bose acoustimass 15 series 2 speaker system in a 6.1 channel fashion. He managed to get another bose speaker module, but since the Bose can not offer any more...

Blue Ray 7.1 Analogue to 6.1 Decoder

The surround back channels are mono whereas the left and right surround ones are true stereo channels. My suggestion is to attach a ' phono splitter' to the suround back input of your AV amp. Run a pair of ordinary phono leads from the two surround back ouputs of your blu ray player and connect...

    1080P Projector

Infocus X10 would be your best bet! I own one which I bought a few months ago for £900 and is simply brilliant. Almost the same spec as IN 80 (slightly less lumens) but now almost £700 cheaper after the price hike of the latter to £1600- thanks to WHFSV who said they would still give 5 stars...

    Panasonic DMP-BD55

Hi, You will be lucky to find one. If you can find one cheap buy it, as the new model, if anything to go by BD55, will be a hit and you may have to wait a while to get a discount. I own a BD55 and am very pleased with the picture and sound (a definite improvement from BD35), but you should look...

    AV pre-amp processors

Hi, Thanks for that. Sorry, have been very busy at work, didn't have a chance to see the replies. Would using balanced outputs make any difference to music as I use a Rotel 1091 power for front speaker duties. Rotel RSP 1570 does not have that. Sudheer

Converting Panasonic Blu Ray Player to Multiregion/Multizone

One of my friends from India wrote to me about the same problem. As far as I know, you can not make the bluray part of the player multi-region, but the DVD portion can be converted. In fact, I converted my Panasonic BD55 to DVD multiregion through a remote I bought off e-bay (for £8.00) and it...
