    Why Original CDs Sound Different?

Welcome to the hi-fi world of transparent sound. Not all cd's are mastered the same. Good equipment reveals that. Now make sure you don't start listening more to the sound than the music.

    Hi-Fi using a PC only

Asus Xonar STX is a VERY good sound card. You can also upgrade the op-amps to match you speakers and preferences. I would recommend that you first buy the card, connect it through its RCA connectors and listen like this for a while. Then get whatever DAC (with the option to return) and test it...

upgrade from Denon 1910 to 3310... overkill?

You will hear massive difference going from 1910 to 3310. I upgrade from 2310 to 3310 and the difference was not as promounced but had a listen to 1911 with my speakers (MA RX10) at a dealer and was totally underwhelmed in comparision to 3310.

Obviously, there are front ported. The same goes for BR & BX series but they are not worth considering (been there). I only mentioned RX 1/2 series, which sound massively different >1 m away from the wall.

plastic penguin: I would recommend Focal (standmount and floorstanders are equally as good as any brand), Monitor Audio and Epos. All these speakers sound good close to the wall and are not demanding on the amp. Monitor Audio RX close to a wall is a definite NO. On the other hand, I have ATC...
