Sorry, I don't know them well enough -probably because I have been so satisfied with the A12, but I' would start with Rotel if and when required. (I'd also look into (other?) Chinese manufacturers like Fiio, or specifically Fiio.) I do recall that when I read about these newer Rotel models, and...

Question Driving a set of Beyerdynamic T5p3

Why, for what?? Looks? What does "to a much better unit" mean? I don't know the TP5. I referenced and focused on the sibilance he experienced: hence the 2 R2R decks -which the K15 lacks, is not -regardless of its looks (or its unit?, maybe...) ;)

    Best compact headphone listening solution?

(I had missed that this is an old post; I may be repeating myself here partly or mostly.) I have and use three DAPs: a 3+-year old HiBy R3 Pro Saber, a 1.5-year old HIBYDIGITAL M300, and a 2-month old Fiio M21. I also recently trialed and returned a JadeAudio JM21 and a HiBy R4 -both able, but...

Question Driving a set of Beyerdynamic T5p3

Some sibilance sucks: Consider a Fiio K11 R2R or K13 R2R to complement your "warm" T5s.

Welcome to the forum. There are many amps that will work fine with your ELACs, but not many bargains, especially on quality units: I'd grab that Denon. Streaming options are always developing and improving, and Yamaha's MusicCast may prove limited today or later. I like and respect Yamaha very...

Excellent sound quality in a system is enough for most people with neighbours

No, a more modest SR-212. An untested one is going for $99, and a "VG" one for $299 today at eBay.com. Mine's probably close to the latter, though a little cleaner.

    Best Bang for Lowest Spend

I'd start with considering upgrading to -or simply adding- a regular Echo or an Eco Studio. He can add two of either and smartly spend a fraction of the options here, and it would probably be an easier setup for what he needs; i.e., for closing the gap he's experienced. There's a new Dot Max...

Excellent sound quality in a system is enough for most people with neighbours

My last turntable was a Sansui, and it is still around/available... ;)

Excellent sound quality in a system is enough for most people with neighbours

"Excellent sound quality in a system..." should be enough for all music listeners

Rip, store & play cd collection

It's never been either/or for me: I require both. My digital collection gives me many more portable options, plus it can be as accessible and portable as I/we want. Also, it can be much larger and more diverse if you have generous friends and relatives with their own CD collections. CD...

Rip, store & play cd collection

I've ripped way over 1K CDs this century, patiently building a digital collection consisting currently of 1084 albums and 13404 tracks -according to my MusicBee library stats. I've been using MusicBee for about a decade, since Zune went down, but that powerful package runs only on Windows and...

Question What's your next HiFi purchase?

So true, and it gets shorter every day... Tried and returned the JT3 last summer. Later in the year, I saw a review that said the JT7 didn't look as good as the JT3, and of course, looks matter. I did like the looks more: I returned the JT3, in part, because I never liked the look, handling...
