    Spotify music only tier.

That could get me to go back, if it's finally HD and at a good price.

    My boring looking loudspeaker cables.

It's sad to note my 2-year old Sewell ones are likely to outlive me. :(

A dilemma. A new disc spinner.

I HAVE ONE: a Keb' Mo'; though ALAS, no player... I suppose I may have another that I've never noticed is HDCD.

A dilemma. A new disc spinner.

I appreciate and enjoy a turntable, internet tuner, and a DAP; but, two CD carousels are my life lines. A Sony CA8ES is my prime music source and about a month ago, I panicked when the display went out on it. I called Sony right away to help me troubleshoot it, and scrambled around town next to...

Patience: A Yamaha DVD-S1800 in a rush maybe?

    Upgrade from Denon PMA800NE

Congrats, but if you're still talking about your Denon PMA-800NE, I think you're wrong --although I've only seen the one released in the US. If yours has digital inputs, it wouldn't be able to output anything without.

What kind of CD player does £21 buy you?

As noted on another thread, my excellent Sony BDP-S580 plays SACDs, as does the X800. Both players are quite compact and have elementary displays.

Spotify via connect or Apple music via BT?

I did the trials a couple of years ago or more -when only Amazon had the 3-month one, and I also opted for Amazon Unlimited. At the time, Amazon stopped charging extra for its HD and new Ultra HD tracks, both of which are lossless offerings. That pretty much sold me and I finally moved from...

    No frills streaming transport?

Granted and I definitely use bluetooth for convenience primarily and for modest/nice-enough sonic pleasure, but not for fussier listening -of a new CD or LP, for instance, and of a special classical or jazz recording especially -the kind of listen I might note in one of the music threads here...

    Cassette Decks

I had not had one for a while (silver Toshiba early, then a modest silver Nakamichi BX1 through the 90s) though I do occasionally play some tapes on my 2004 car's nice deck. Last week, coincidentally, I saw a very nicely maintained, still-modest 2-head Technics DBX-equipped deck advertised, and...

    Upgrade from Denon PMA800NE

Take plenty of time to learn and appreciate your new pieces with your nice, liked Denon.

    The Album of the Day

Yet, there were great recordings since vinyl and tape days, and I don't need to compare quality, just identify and appreciate them. Moreover, there are plenty of poor modern recordings, because it's not just about yesterday's and/vs. today's tech; and there's a lot of easy and cheap access to...

    The Album of the Day

I don't see it as a downside... they're "good at" it. We learn more about recording. recordings, and using them is optional. I wouldn't want to not be able to see my wrinkles.
