    Cartridge for vintage turntable

This cartridge was a really great recommendation so thanks again. It was a bit harsh on the treble at first but settled down about 5 records in and is still getting better as it beds down. Remarkable amount of separation in particular. Couldn't be happier with it!

Thanks to both of you. I've gone with the AT440MLB in the end. Looking forward to it arriving.

    Cartridge for vintage turntable

Hi there - I have an AR the legend turntable and I'm starting to think about upgrading the cartridge/stylus from the AT 110e that it came with. It has a linn basik arm and runs in to a rotel 1570 with B&W cm8 speakers ( I assume but don't know if this is helpful info). I've hunted around the...

    Fried amp.....

Oh don't know. I'll research tomorrow. Was fitted with an audio technics cartridge and a linn arm is all I know (if that's even relevant!)

    Fried amp.....

Thanks. I am dearly hoping so! Especially galling as I blew my guitar amp recently as well..... But yes I'd assumed (with my absolute 0 knowledge of anything electrical, mechanical or otherwise) that it would be strange for a record player to blow an amp. sorry not sure what you mean by MM pickup?

    Fried amp.....

It was about 6 months ago give or take so hopefully covered by warranty. Told the dealer similar to post above over the phone but haven't taken it in yet. Hopefully will do tomorrow.

    Fried amp.....

I did post the crux of this on the turntable forum a little while ago but it seems my problem has become rather more serious and wanted to ask a couple of questions equipment is as follows - rotel RA 1570 amp (new about 6 months ago), B&D cm8s (bought second hand) and AR legend turntable (an...

B&w cm9 speakers require suitable amp, and advice

I also have cm8s, so for what it's worth I am using a rotel 1570 which has a built in dac - sounds great to me

    Turntable running slow

Just in case this helps anybody. I took it all apart, cleaned it, lubricated relevant parts and now it works like a dream. Have to give it a little spin to help the motor along which is kind of satisfying but enjoying it a lot. Thanks to my those that posted helpful responses.
