Should I empty my spin clean rcm?

That seems expensive! To have one with just distilled water for rinsing. That aside, my pads within a month had shrunk to the degree that they no longer contact thinner vinyl at all! Hence the question as to whether I should empty it inbetween cleans.

Should I empty my spin clean rcm?

As per the title. I've just cleaned literally 6 albums. Should I leave the fluid in which is apparently good for many more albums yet or empty the bath? No such advice is given in the Cheers instructions. Any pointers? Will it shorten the life of the cleaning pads? If so this seems a...

    RP1+ Sonos Port Cartridge upgrade

Im not finding it noisy, but like @Al ears said, possibly reacting to the state of the record more. Certainly far from unlistenable, the polar opposite. I love this cart, it brings the music to life and is So much better now it's broken in. I've always believed this to be true, trusting my...

    RP1+ Sonos Port Cartridge upgrade

Happy to say that now the ML has had, ahem, a few hours put through it.... It's sounding like a different cart again. Regular sessions of Pink Floyd until 2 AM have made a world of difference. Once again. AT-ML95 makes a VERY nice upgrade to the RP1 /+. Literally the only downside is that...

    RP1+ Sonos Port Cartridge upgrade

Hi everyone. Job done. Setup wasn't too difficult at all. It needed the mandated 2g tracking force. Even at 1.9 things just didn't seem quite right, lacking. It needs to break in to widen out a bit, as things currently sound a little more compressed but not unpleasantly so, it makes the carbon...

I certainly shall do. It seems that the nominal tracking force for this cart is 2g anyway which is the RP1 default. Would you recommend starting at perhaps 1.8 and seeing how it goes?

    RP1+ Sonos Port Cartridge upgrade

Thank you for not shooting me down in flames! The counterweight isn't an issue as I understand it, just a matter of backing it off down the tonearm. Sure there are no markings for weight but it's rigid enough on the tonearm to sit where it's left if not pushed fully home to the 2g position...

    RP1+ Sonos Port Cartridge upgrade

Don't get me wrong - I'm not looking for overbearing mid range, just slightly more than the CARBON gives and certainly less harsh on the top end. The CARBON is not a bad cart but to my ears, definitely missing some mid warmth and as detailed as it is - at the top end it's just a little too...

First of all - thanks for all of the replies. What a helpful forum of nice, like minded people - unlike others which I have attended (not hi-fi related). I have been out of the country for a couple of weeks so will resuscitate. No animosity intended, I have to disagree with the statement that...

I seriously recommend removing your mats completely from the P1 and experiencing the difference!

Yes, well aware of the fiddle, have done this before with a Technics deck but thank you. Also tried an acrylic platter and sent it back as it sounded awful on my P1 due to the extra height the stylus struggled to track and sounded awful!

    RP1+ Sonos Port Cartridge upgrade

... And to further update my own post I just removed the felt mat as I'm sick of the dust and static despite washing my vinyl with a RCM. Thought I'd give it a try. My word. Bass is deeper and mid range improved I guess due to increased tracking force. It's still a bit essy and top end for...
