    AI TVs

Recently looked in the local Curry's. They had conventional latest TVs and they also had the the newer AI versions, which are considerably more expensive. In real world watching is there a worthwhile improvement over the latest non AI sets?

    Whump whump whump sound?

If it is the turntable, try 4 x computer mouse mats underneath the feet. See if that makes any difference.

Mostly, Al. I never use a motorway, nearby M25 is dreadful. A lot of time there are tractors in the lanes. They all narrow sweeping bends, and due to horses exercised by the stable owners, it'll be careless to drive too fast. All the 'A' roads have average speed limits (usually around 40-50...

In my 2.0 version, due to the nature of the narrow lanes, I never take it over 3000 rpm.

Yeah, you certainly need a Quaife limited slip diff. If it's a Q2 version, fitted with the Quaife from the factory, that's fine. The early V6s never had the Q2 diff, which isn't cheap either. Not for me. Keep it stock spec.

    Hi Fi Dealers in 2026

I think more than ever people become lazy (generalisation), not helped by the Internet. Most would rather chance their arm and buy blind, something I don't subscribe to, unless it's a used model, such as my Exposure CDP. I believe high street retailers need to adapt to modern circumstances. So...

This Alfa 156 GTA looks as normal as any other 3.2 GTA. But it's far from normal. I chatted to the owner and he's had the engine supercharged. So it has gone from 250 bhp to 350 bhp, or 0-62 in around 6.0 secs in stock form to sub 5.0 secs, according to the owner. So I phoned the Alfa...

Question Advice for better sound at lower volume

They were indeed. The specs were 87db into 8ohms, and my little Arcam A65+ were more comfortable with them than driving the RS6s. This is why when demo speakers it's important to listen at lower volumes as well as higher db's.

Question Advice for better sound at lower volume

This is very true. My old PMCs TB2s were were a little more adept at low volumes, at 91db into 8 ohms, whereas the Dalis are 87db into 6 ohms. The Leema copes well with the Dalis. Some speakers like my old RS6s was 6 ohms but dipped to around 2 ohms. They were more demanding on certain amps...

The reason why i haven't been on here very often

Now now. These were women, unlike today there was no financial support, who were trying to earn 4p for a warm bed. The only way then was to sell themselves. It's even sadder when you think most of these sad women came from middle class backgrounds, married with children. Annie Chapman, the...

The reason why i haven't been on here very often

Realistically no. But i always live in hope that perhaps someone might open a case that's stuffed away in the attic for decades may have a definitive answer. Also, there's a large warehouse somewhere in S. London full of old Met Police documents. Whether they'll sort it out is another matter...

Is there a better live performance?

Sadly, it's one of Keith Moons last public performance. Greatest drummer IMHO. View: https://youtu.be/UDfAdHBtK_Q?si=AwK09F3qWdo07rYt

The reason why i haven't been on here very often

Kosminski is a good shout but he wasn't capable of eating like normal, preferred eating from the gutter. IMHO, the killer was cold and calculating, such as George Chapman. He lived in Cable Street Whitechapel for a while, but murdered 3 of his wives by poisoning. Would he change his MO? Unlikely...

The reason why i haven't been on here very often

Yes, i think so. Every component works so well with the others. I don't think any film should be made on the Whitechapel murderer. Because he was never caught, scriptwriters take all the protagonists out of proportion. Abberline as a drug taking, psychic detective is a joke. The 1988...

The reason why i haven't been on here very often

I used to post stuff until my eyes bled, but during 2025 I've been so content with my bundles and as a consequence, I'm totally out of touch with new equipment in the retailers. Also, I've been so into Jack the Ripper research, I've visited Whitechapel a couple of times over recent months with...
