They were indeed. The specs were 87db into 8ohms, and my little Arcam A65+ were more comfortable with them than driving the RS6s.
This is why when demo speakers it's important to listen at lower volumes as well as higher db's.
This is very true. My old PMCs TB2s were were a little more adept at low volumes, at 91db into 8 ohms, whereas the Dalis are 87db into 6 ohms. The Leema copes well with the Dalis.
Some speakers like my old RS6s was 6 ohms but dipped to around 2 ohms. They were more demanding on certain amps...
Now now. These were women, unlike today there was no financial support, who were trying to earn 4p for a warm bed. The only way then was to sell themselves.
It's even sadder when you think most of these sad women came from middle class backgrounds, married with children. Annie Chapman, the...
Realistically no. But i always live in hope that perhaps someone might open a case that's stuffed away in the attic for decades may have a definitive answer.
Also, there's a large warehouse somewhere in S. London full of old Met Police documents. Whether they'll sort it out is another matter...
Kosminski is a good shout but he wasn't capable of eating like normal, preferred eating from the gutter. IMHO, the killer was cold and calculating, such as George Chapman. He lived in Cable Street Whitechapel for a while, but murdered 3 of his wives by poisoning. Would he change his MO? Unlikely...
Yes, i think so. Every component works so well with the others.
I don't think any film should be made on the Whitechapel murderer. Because he was never caught, scriptwriters take all the protagonists out of proportion.
Abberline as a drug taking, psychic detective is a joke.
The 1988...
I used to post stuff until my eyes bled, but during 2025 I've been so content with my bundles and as a consequence, I'm totally out of touch with new equipment in the retailers.
Also, I've been so into Jack the Ripper research, I've visited Whitechapel a couple of times over recent months with...
I've always lusted over Restek amps. I heard so many good ones from around 20 years ago. Sadly, this German brand wasn't available from UK suppliers.
I would guess if you are looking for a better Dac than your CD player, then any good modern device will suffice. But as always, try and demo a...
I had some good news today from an Alfa site I occasionally frequent. Obviously write about different aspects and traits of various Alfa Romeos. Like all of them I posted a couple of random photos. They said, they are introducing a 2026 calendar. When I saw the online version, they've included...
So far, my daughter's Mito hasn't missed a beat. And she covers a lot of miles during the week getting to work and back each day. She's also happy with petrol consumption, uses far less than her old 1.6 Mini Cooper.
My 156 hasn't missed a beat either. Engine has been great over the last 4...
