New Ruark cd transport - R-CD100

For what it's worth my view would be that their are many customers like me who are increasingly going down the streaming route (not least because omitting physical releases or restricting them to vinyl is now common) still want to play cds, and to purchase them where produced to give artists a...

New Ruark cd transport - R-CD100

Update - having started this thread, I wanted to let anyone interested in this product know that the issue has been resolved. I was eventually able (to be fair, with some help from Ruark customer services at this point) to persuade Ruark's tech team that this wasn't acceptable and that they were...

New Ruark cd transport - R-CD100

I bought directly from them, they were the 'dealer', they told me the behaviour was normal and that the unit wasn't faulty, then, to be honest, ghosted me. I checked a second unit from a retailer to see if the problem replicated which it did. That retailer is sympathetic to the issue and I'll...

New Ruark cd transport - R-CD100

No - I emailed them examples of the issue and they replied that this was normal function. I expressed surprise and asked them to let me know if their tech team had any further information. They didn’t reply. I’ve used two units - one bought direct from them - and both have the same behaviour.

New Ruark cd transport - R-CD100

A fair point, well made. And not to believe marketing copy that claims to be championing physical media or customer services people who claim that they're just about to release the perfect solution if you wait a month or two.....! I did look quite hard for negatives on Ruark (in their category)...

New Ruark cd transport - R-CD100

By way of update, I went to the local branch of the well known tv/hi-fi chain from whom I bought the transport and played them the noise. The manager was surprised both by the noise and by Ruark's response - suggested pushing back and seeing if their position shifted. That said, he was helpful...

New Ruark cd transport - R-CD100

No, really not an ex employee , just a consumer keen to get advice from the forum - and thanks to those who have replied. Everyone has a first post. :) To clarify, Ruark recommended a Rose cd player which connected to the 410 via USB. For me the 410 froze after playing a cd and wouldn’t shift...

New Ruark cd transport - R-CD100

My challenge is that I've had the 410 and subwoofer for more time so can't easily exit Ruark. I waited for the cd unit in good faith. One wonders if Alan Rourke has actually listened to his products. Nevertheless, some helpful suggestions for alternatives have been offered in this thread.

These will only have been out in the wild for a few days, so they will perhaps get more feedback!

New Ruark cd transport - R-CD100

That’s helpful as well - thank you. I’d hoped to keep the physical footprint down (part of the logic of the all Ruark set up) but appreciate your points on the outputs.

New Ruark cd transport - R-CD100

Thank you for this - I appreciate you taking the time. I’d seen this and will consider it. Given that I’ve got a Ruark unit from Richer I can check it out with them. I’m still mystified that Ruark think their device will be ok - their market may not be audiophile but this seems so obvious and...

New Ruark cd transport - R-CD100

Thanks - that’s helpful. So worth thinking about a decent player as it will use its own DAC, not the 410’s?

New Ruark cd transport - R-CD100

Thanks. I had wondered if they would (need to) do this - the 410 can receive online updates. And it feels to me to be a behaviour issue. However Ruark deny that there’s a problem - I know this is more a consumer than audiophile product but am surprised they think this is ok.

New Ruark cd transport - R-CD100

Ruark did recommend cd players to use with their systems. I purchased one and it struggled - they told me they were launching their own player as they were encountering problems with third party compatibility. It seems a huge fumble to have launched a player with this fault. They expect cd...
