FWIW the Marantz PM8005 is a cracking amp if you can stretch that far (lots of deals around £600 when i bought mine)....it sacrifices the practicality of having an onboard DAC, but if you can do without that it should be superior to the PM7005

just make sure there isnt any speaker wire shorting out on the left speakers, check at the amp and the speaker terminals

I heard the Opticon with a CXA80 in RicherSounds - TBH i was underwhelmed as the mid range sounded very clouded.............*CAVEAT - it was in a small boxy room, with the dealers music, not my own. I will reserve proper judgement until ive heard them on my terms with my amp.
