I agree 100%. I once tried to combine a Marantz PM6004 with my CD6004 (top machine) & Focal Chorus floortstander speakers...compared to my NAD C352 the sound was very poor and needed a lot of tweaking in order to get a bit of decent sound, couldn't believe my ears. I sold it back almost right...
