    Upgrade from NAD D3020

Which Project turntable and speakers do you have? Do you use any other source (e.g. CD player, streamer)?

    Enjoying records again

I'm pleased for you, Major. I have similarly started to enjoy my records (and CDS as it happens) a lot more although in my case it is down to being able to re-site my set up in the lounge. All thanks to a strategic furniture change :) All the best

Dithering about a new CD Player

Thank you everyone for your comments. I apologise for not replying sooner but unfortunately the forum decided my posts were spam. The kind Mr Duncan has now sorted it out. Having read the comments and gone to listen to some players for myself I have settled on an Audiolab 8200CDQ and I am very...

Dali Zensor 3 vs Monitor Audio BX2

They are both very good speakers. I have previously owned the Monitor Audios and now own the Zensor 5s (the 3s big brothers). Personally I prefer the Zensors but it is a close run thing. I did find that the Monitor Audios had their own 'house sound' which I guess is a matter of taste. What...

Dithering about a new CD Player

I have been updating my hi-fi system over the last couple of years, as funds permitted. I am now happy with the sound I get from playing records, which is achieved by the following: Ortofon 2M Blue > Pro-Ject 2 Xperience Acrylic > Arcam A19 > Dali Zensor 5 Currently, CD playing duties fall to...

Marantz MCR603. Bass seems very boomy, needs a bit more punch? What settings/configuration should i use?

When I tried the bi-wired option on the Marantz, there was a slight increase in detail and a slight loss of umph. Bearing in mind what you are trying to achieve I do not think it will help. All IMHO.

Project debut 3 phono SB. built in phono

Hi there Firstly, whatever you do, please do not plug the turntable into your amp's phono input. You will overload the amp and cause some damage, somewhere. In my experience and personal view, the turntable you have is a good starter deck, but limited by the cartridge first and the phono...

Best software players for lossless and hi res music

Foobar and JRiver Media Centre are popular players, if that is any help.

    Cambridge Audio gear unreliable/unsupported?

In my experience, buying an extended warranty pretty much guarantees nothing will go wrong with the item covered, leaving me to wonder should I have bought the warranty in the first place. (Not commenting on Cambridge Audio products).

What format for best quality audio on Ipod Classic or Ipod Touch?

In that case, I would suggest you opt for Apple Lossless files (option 2). They will sound as good as option 1 but take up less space. They will also be of better quality than the files you can buy from iTunes. However, if you are playing your music from the iPod on headphones, you may find...
