Wharfedale Diamond 225 or Wharfedale Diamond 11.2

Hi Gasolin, Thanks for your reply. The Stereophile review sparked my interest in the Diamond 225. I guess the Diamond 11.2 hasn't been around long enough for a serious review. The Kef Q350 is above my budget. Never tried Kef though. I've always had a soft spot for Wharfedale and have had them...

Wharfedale Diamond 225 or Wharfedale Diamond 11.2

Hi, I want to buy a set of Diamond 225's or Diamond 11.2's. Both are similar in size, but according to the specs they are quite different (11.2 is much heavier, but the 225 has a larger woofer). Unfortunately I can't audition them together. Does anybody have experience with either? Any...

    Speakers for Marantz PM350??

I am still amazed at how well they sound. My 1060 is the best vintage amp I have ever heared, but I have also owned a Marantz 1040 and a Marantz 2216B. Both have less power than the 1060, but they sounded very good with both modern and vintage speakers. I don't know your Technics speakers, but...

    Speakers for Marantz PM350??

I'm running a Marantz 1060 with a pair of Wharfedale 507.2. These are mid-eighties speakers and sound excellent with a vintage amp. I also have a pair of Mordaunt-Short Mezzo's 2 which I bought as replacements for the Wharfedale's. Sounds fine too, but I keep coming back to the Wharfedale's.

    Integrated Amp with HT bypass

As you already have Marantz equipment this Marantz integrates well with your set. You may also consider a second hand PM7003, 8003 or 7004 as they too have ht passthrough or Power amp direct as Marantz calls this.

Dissapointed in my brand new Marantz PM6005, anyone has the Denon PMA-720AE and can recommend ?

How about trying some secondhand speakers instead of splashing out on a set of new ones. In my search for new speakers I have come across Magnat Zero 3's in excellent condition. Paid 65 euro's for them and they turned out to have a an excellent bass and even better highs. If they turned out to...

Is there anyway I can do Bluetooth from my Pioneer sc-lx81 amp so I can listen to music from my I

Yes, but you will need a bluetooth receiver which you can connect to the back of your amp. For example a Focal aptX Bluetooth Receiver.

    Marantz PM7003 vs PM6004

Good choice. You won't miss out very much in comparison to the PM7003. Hope you find a mint PM6004 soon! By the way: I just sold my mint 3 year old PM6004 for 225 euros through the dutch Marktplaats.

    Marantz PM7003 vs PM6004

I own both the 6004 and 7003 and can inform you that both are very good amps. The 6004 also should have ample power to drive your speakers. The 7003 has even more power and should handle your speakers even better. I don't know where you live but the prices you mentioned are quite high. I live in...

    onkyo a-9010 vs yamaha a-s500

Well, if you are happy with your current setup, why don't you look for a second hand Leak stereo 20? Probably cheaper than a new amp but there is also more risk.

    onkyo a-9010 vs yamaha a-s500

Interesting comment Slice. I have a CD5004 and together with either a PM6004 or PM7003 I find the CD5004 quite clinical. That goes to show you that the old saying beauty is in the eyes of the beholder also applies to our ears. Perhaps it is possible for Leak to audition his selected amps first...

    onkyo a-9010 vs yamaha a-s500

No thanks! An advantage I forgot to mention is that you can operate the Marantz equipment with just one remote control. Also I think that equipment of the same brand are designed to complement each other both visually and by ear.

    onkyo a-9010 vs yamaha a-s500

Hallo Leak, As you already have Marantz cd player, why don't you try the Marantz PM6005. I own a PM6004 I think That for this amp fast, detailed and with a wilde sound stage sums it up quite nicely. Peter

    My First Hi-Fi System

As you can see in my signature I am quite fond of Marantz gear. I don"t know where you read that there are better budget systems. Of course everybody is entitled to have an opinion and there are no absolute wrong or rights when it comes to hifi. It is my opinion that wit a PM6005 you have an amp...

    My First Hi-Fi System

The Marantz PM6005 has an internal dac so that your computer based music sounds well. Match this amp with budget speakers like Wharfedale Diamond 10.1 and you have a cracking system that will still sound good in a larger room. Of course there are similar amps from Onkyo, Yamaha and NAD with...
