TV has updated firmware none available for player!

I cannot get My Samsung UE40S9 to recognise my Marantz UD8004 blu ray player through a Marantz SR6004 by hdmi or component cables. The player just freezes. Tried hdmi direct to the one connection mini box, same result. Sky box & Toshiba vcr/hdd work fine. Samsung could not help! Marantz, Same...
