    KEF SPEAKER REPAIR

Yes, I agree they’re expensive, but it was the only example I could find anywhere near close!

    Question Speaker suggestions?

Welcome to the forum. Whilst it’s a lovely piece of furniture, there are no speakers I can think of that would be expected to be mounted inside a wooden box, however rigid it might be. Any lower frequencies will make the entire cabinet thrum at various pitches, and the treble sounds will be...

    KEF SPEAKER REPAIR

Drivers are often found on eBay, but with older speakers it can be easier simply to buy a complete speaker and swap the parts. For example, this might be the same driver in a smaller cabinet - I’m sure a bit of googling will tell you. But you get the idea?

    Weak Passwords.

There’s a great little diagram I’ve seen somewhere, probably Facebook, that shows how many characters, and how many upper, lower case, punctuation, numbers, etc., to prevent passwords being guessed by a powerful computer. I got a call from a credit card company at 06:50 on Christmas Eve. Was I...

Question Oberon 5 ampli choice Marrantz vs Denon

Is this issue when using Bluetooth? It may depend on your source, but I find most radio stations are consistent within their own broadcasts, but differ significantly from each other. What source are you listening to? A streaming service like Spotify, Tidal or Qobuz? I’d recommend Qobuz...

Not the WHF Best 2025 HiFi Awards

Yes, I’d heard that. They will offer their gear to the good guys and gals, but presumably the villains use an Android phone? Fascinating this product placement thing.

New dali speakers next year SONIK

That’s what I remembered from the Oberon 5, that sweet treble was perfect for more modest kit, and sounded very even-handed and enjoyable.

New dali speakers next year SONIK

That makes me feel old, as I can distinctly remember the launch of Oberon which I heard at the Bristol Show that February. Probably before Covid so not so recently! I’m afraid these days I tend to think they’ve found a way to shave even more money off the build cost, rather than offering a...

    Cd player upgrade

Welcome to the forum. There is a vast range of CD players available within your budget, both used and new. You could do a lot worse than a newer Arcam, as they usually made popular and reliable players. There are several of the discontinued but very nice FMJ series in budget, so just search on...

    Season's greetings.

Gosh, hope you’re soon much better! Not a great time to crock up, but at least there’s lots on the telly if that helps?

    Question Pro-ject Debut Carbon skipping

If only you’d read post #6 we would have been spared your life story! It was nothing to do with the turntables!

    Bluetooth device suggestions please?

I’m late to this, but I think @Witterings was onto something re the analogue output from the Wiim. Check the default output as that may be 2 volts. An older AV amp analogue input would prefer the 1 volt setting, and that could well explain the distortion - input overload. Obviously not...

Downsizing: can I get a similar sound for much cheaper?

I agree with @The_Lecht_Rocks ! To be frank, if that were possible we’d all be buying it! You know from your adventures in choosing that kit how it stood out at the time, so the challenge is what you will lose that you’ll miss the least. You don’t need a phono stage; smaller speakers...
