Totally agree with you. Can't believe they've spent 12 whole months producing something so cluttered, unintuitive and hard to use. What a completely pointless and thoroughly disappointing exercise. That's me out.
What under 30s buy into is utterly irrelevant in determining greatness. Longevity counts for all. How much of the crap that under 30's flock to will still be watched in 100 years? Very little, I suspect. Somehow I can't see Will Ferrell, Steve Carell and Rob Pattinson being revered a century...
Well said, MrReaper.
Contemporary social attitudes and the latest special effects have absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with greatness. I'll take Brief Encounter (with all its outdated social mores and unrealistic old-fashioned dialogue!) over any of the modern day crap Richard Curtis pumps...
I have a Bose Wave Music System by my bed - great FM and DAB reception, can plug in iPod if required, goes loud if required without losing the smooth, rich sound. But HiFi it ain't. It's a good quality but extremely expensive bedside Clock Radio!
I'm planning to wait until Sony have tweaked their portable Hi Res player to incorporate DSD support and increased storage. Until then, I'll stick with my trusty Sony MiniDisc Walkman.
A totally nonsensical idea from people who clearly don't understand the concept of public service broadcasting.
I'd be happy to pay more as well. I'd much rather have a range of quality programming than the dumbed-down, sub-Jeremy Kyle fodder found pretty much everywhere on cable (excepting all...
It's well documented that TalkTalk is one of the most complained about providers with consistently low levels of customer satisfaction.
Personally, I'd never put money into Murdoch's pocket so that rules out Sky for me. I've never had any major problems with Virgin in over 6 years - any issues...
BBB if you get no joy from JL, try emailing their MD directly.
His name is Andy Street and his email address is: andy_street@johnlewis.co.uk
Often the MD email address goes to a team in the MD's office who deal with stuff like this speedily (that said, when I emailed the MD of my energy...
Covers of Bowie songs never seem to work (apart from the Seu Jorge reworkings which aren't technically covers), but here are a couple that are sufficiently different to the orginals:

Thoroughly recommend this to anyone who hasn't yet seen it:
And also concur with the poster above who enjoyed the Alan Partridge film - much funnier than I expected.
Funnily enough, I was going to post the exact same question this week. All I'm looking for is a high quality big screen to watch movies on. Seems odd that you have to pay a premium NOT to have 3D, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc etc etc. :wall:
Burt Bacharach at the Royal Festival Hall. A living legend and I got a handshake from him at the end!
Never heard such a spinetinglingly dramatic rendition of Anyone Who Had A Heart.
