Freeview HD channels on LG TVs

I have the latest WebOS 24 on two LG TVs, the latest being a 2024 C4 which I bought late last year. Unfortunately, neither TV seems to support Freeview HD channels. We have very good Freeview signal strength and got the HD versions of the terrestrial channels on our older Panasonic and Sony...

Question Soundmagic E10C vs Cambridge Melomania 1 Plus?

The bass on my E10c is good but not as distinct as on my other ‘phones. I’m not a fan of the overpowering bass on Beats, preferring a more natural, balanced sound. Presumably you’ve already seen this review? https://www.whathifi.com/reviews/cambridge-audio-melomania-1-plus

Question Soundmagic E10C vs Cambridge Melomania 1 Plus?

Personally I think the Melomania have superior sound - a revelatory level of detail in familiar tracks. I also consider the E10C build quality cheap by comparison. I’ve got Melomania 1 by the way - Melomania 1+ are apparently even better (and currently cheaper)...

Question Soundmagic E10C vs Cambridge Melomania 1 Plus?

I have both E10C and the Melomania 1 earphones. I initially got the latter for convenience, mainly at the gym but I use them all the time now, often preferring them to my more expensive Sony and B&W over ears. Sound is stunning:!clear, detailed and natural. They’re an absolute steal at the...

Is it time for Tidal to lower its prices?

Ridiculously overpriced in the UK, where it’s $27 a month. Add in the MQA factor and I can’t see it lasting in a competitive market.

    Disappointed by Sonos

A stereo pairing of Sonos One/SL is a great lifestyle system. I replaced my Denon D-M39 micro with a pair and stream Apple Music all day long.

    Disappointed by Sonos

Going off topic here but Pink Floyd’s 70s albums are on Apple Music in 24/44.1 Lossless and sound great. They’re Apple Digital Masters, too. In the absence of Floyd HR releases these are the best streamed versions I’ve heard.

    Disappointed by Sonos

I live in a terraced house. Sonos for casual listening at lower volume, wired headphones and DAC for more serious listening. With the TV The Sonos Beam is a great compromise as I haven’t the space to dedicate to home cinema speakers. Sonos is a good technology for practical home audio but isn’t...

News Why are some audiophiles so critical of Apple Music?

Interesting comments, but don’t you think though that Apple's music is service is primarily aimed at iPhone users rather than meeting the needs of audiophiles with expensive high end streamers? Qobuz is the company I feel sorry for as this market hots up. A good specialist service fairly...

News Why are some audiophiles so critical of Apple Music?

I can't understand the angry criticism some audio enthusiasts are aiming at Apple Music, which let's not forget is intended for music fans rather than high-end hi-Fi enthusiasts. It's not as if Apple are charging extra for it, and it does actually work well, albeit with some bugs and flaws. If...
