I tried it out with 826v was ok. M6i did a better job though, bass was more controlled and sound was fuller. The combination was great for me, really enjoyable combination! If you are about to purchase both speakers and amp, try 826v and M6i probably same ballpark budget as 836v and M3i.

Not an easy question, I think it depends on your room size and the type of music you like. The 1007be is probably a better speaker (with probably less bass than the 816w), but it requires high quality amp to sound good. No, I was thinking to plug it to my external DAC at home and use it as portable music player on the road. I could not figure out from their web site if one can stream digital music to an external DAC.
