OP for a similar or lesser amount you can get better amplification with the discontinued and still excellent Rotel RA-1062. -

Not quite. Over the years I've come across some amplifiers with impressive current figures but when you use these amplifiers its been a case of me saying "I'm waiting for something to happen" :D -
