Question Substantial upgrade or just swap the amp??

That's a tasty speaker suggestion, though my budget doesn't stretch! I've had it setup for well over a year. It's alright, but some stuff can be fatiguing hence wanting to either swap in a warmer amp or swap the speakers and pair with my Roksan.

Question Substantial upgrade or just swap the amp??

Thanks, what amp did you pair it with, and out of interest, what did you replace with to combat the fatigue from ?

Question Substantial upgrade or just swap the amp??

I agree, I'm exactly the same. It's only recently I've started investing some time into it again. My usual "musts" though are the pretty standard requirments of positioning in a roughly square/rectangle space and at ear level.

Question Substantial upgrade or just swap the amp??

Thanks for your reply, I've heard good things about the 70-80s era Jap stuff. I'll keep them on my radar :) Would you have some cheap but effective treatment suggestions for my room too maybe?

Question Substantial upgrade or just swap the amp??

So currently due to my living room size I have stepped down from floorstanders to some Mission 751 being driven by an AL 8000A. I missed my floorstanders so recently I got the bug again and started hunting speakers. Initially the Focal Aria 926 paired with my Roksan Kandy K3 seemed like a good...

    Question Moisture in speaker stands?

Nah, bone dry inside. I don't know what the salt content of kiln dried sand is, but hopefully it's not a lot. It was originally meant to be a second system but is now my main due to a move and room size not really appropriate for floorstanders. I can't be bothered to empty and sort, far too much...

    Question Moisture in speaker stands?

That makes me feel more settled, especially the end bit! Good enough for me!

    Question Moisture in speaker stands?

I use bluetack, but there was still ringing. The bag of sand cost me £3.66 so I thought it was worth a punt!

    Question Moisture in speaker stands?

Having seen Gray's comment, I don't think I'll bother since filling is done from the top rear with no way to get inside and microfiber about. They cost me £50, I'll just have to hope for the best and learn from my errors! Doh!

    Question Moisture in speaker stands?

It would be easier, though it's a fair bit more expensive than sand.

    Question Moisture in speaker stands?

Thanks for your comments, I think for piece of mind (though a PIA) I'd prefer to empty them into separate buckets and then use a bag. However, it's likely that I won't be able to remove all of the sand, will the small salt content cause issues? What sort of bag works well and how am I meant to...

    Question Moisture in speaker stands?

I've recently filled (⅔) my Atacama SE24 stands with kiln dried sand since many have suggested this as an affordable solution. However, I'm slightly concerned about moisture getting in since some people state they "seal" the top to prevent moisture. Speakers are in my living room which I have my...

    Question Old vs New/Isolation?

Thanks, I'll give it a go. That's a proper Hi-Fi bargain right there!

    Question Old vs New/Isolation?

Thanks for the info. I presume if I were to try the halved squash balls, I'd use these instead of the feet and just rest them underneath the turntable or use some double sided tape maybe?
