Intermittently soundless LEFT speaker only when power on.

In my country, it is still possible to have a nice breakfast, such as noodles + boiled egg + hot red tea, for less than US$1.

Intermittently soundless LEFT speaker only when power on.

Checked. It is about US$0.25/month for standby power-on 24 hours/day.

Intermittently soundless LEFT speaker only when power on.

The Marantz amp and cd player are more than 17 years. No manual. Will try to search online.

Intermittently soundless LEFT speaker only when power on.

Is it power consuming if I leave the amplifier and CD player power-on forever after stop playing music? I will see if the problem occurs if I do so.

Intermittently soundless LEFT speaker only when power on.

@shadders Yes. With or without the sound from left speaker, the click (or tag-in) sound is always there 2 seconds after I turn on the Marantz amplifier.

Intermittently soundless LEFT speaker only when power on.

SIMPLE SETUP: Marantz CD-5000 CD player + Marantz PM-47 amplifier + One pair JPW P1 speakers. PROBLEM: 20% of the time when I power up the CD player and amplifier and start playing a CD, the LEFT speaker is soundless. I have to power off the player/amplifier and re-play the CD 1~3 times before...

    Question Amp under-power?? Marantz PM-47 amplifier (40w) + JPW P1 speakers (70w)

I am not an audiophile. I don't have trained ears. I would be pretending to be an expert if I say the sound has improved. But at least psychologically it feels better. Anyway, I think the sound is perfect for me now. Compared to when they were wall-mounted near ceiling, the difference is...

    Question Amp under-power?? Marantz PM-47 amplifier (40w) + JPW P1 speakers (70w)

Finally got my speaker stands. Very nice quality and firm. Paid about US$40 for a pair. Columns 80% filled with sand. Speakers are secured with Fiber-Castell Tack-It (similar to BluTack). Will test sound quality shortly. Question: Do I need to put foam dampeners below the spikes (between floor...

    Question Amp under-power?? Marantz PM-47 amplifier (40w) + JPW P1 speakers (70w)

Just repositioned the speakers a few minutes ago. Below the speakers are hard foams. Will add 4 rubber dampeners below each foam.

    Question Amp under-power?? Marantz PM-47 amplifier (40w) + JPW P1 speakers (70w)

Possible. I also noticed only the tinned copper side has printing "Choseal High Quality Speaker Cable + Manufacture date". The printing is also an indicator.

    Question Amp under-power?? Marantz PM-47 amplifier (40w) + JPW P1 speakers (70w)

I am curious why one side is tinned copper (copper coated with a thin layer of tin) while the other side is bare copper. I googled and the nearest answer is to prevent corrosion. But if it's for preventing corrosion, why tinned only one side? I doubt it has anything to do with conductivity...

    Question Amp under-power?? Marantz PM-47 amplifier (40w) + JPW P1 speakers (70w)

@shadders The speakers are now located immediately next to my amplifier. We are not talking about an extended length of 30ft or more. Although I am not an experienced audiophile, as an enginneer my common sense tells me I don't need an expensive wire for such a short distance. These wires will...
