What Speakers to pair with Cyrus, Spendor?

I have cyrus 6vs + Spendor S3/5R speakers and would say they are an excellent match with the emphasis on accoustic/vocal mid range performace. The speakers are also unfussy about placement and the bass will never get out of control. However if you listen to rock/jazz and also at low volume I...

    Cyrus 6vs amp

I had the nad C340 + Wharfedale 8.1's. I wanted to upgrade the amp and got the cyrus 6vs, but was disappointed because the amp was more revealing of badly recorded cd's and there are no tone controls to compensate. I had lost system synergy and missed the fact that the nad made all my cd's sound...

Old Arcam cd players vs. recent budget cd players

.......had an Arcam 7SE for many years (+ nad 340) and found it a slightly warm but fine allround CDP. However after about 5yrs it developed a fault which manifested itself by the transport emitting a whistling noise whenever I got half way through a CD which lasted for about 3 tracks and then...

    NAD C326 super sensitive volume

.....on a NAD C340 I used to run, the volume sensitivity was only an issue on the input from CDP, but fitting Rothwell attenuators cured this problem for me.

    Spendor SA1 or PMC DB1i

........the SA1's are indeed a fine speaker, but having tried them for a week on the end of a 6vs2, in a small room I found them poor at low volume. To hear the excellent bass & treble I had to crank up the volume, whereapon they burst into life, but then found the midrange way too loud in...

Pound for pound best hi fi product of last 40 years....

for the money........has to be the Technics 1200 deck - 'real' analogue sound, exceptional value for money, bulletproof longevity & now a fantastic range of mods & upgrades available (I got fed up fiddling with rubber drive belts & pulley wheels years ago!) A close second for the sony walkman!

Graham Slee GA 2 Communicator Phono Stage

I run a Tech 1210/OL Silver/Goldring 1042 through the same amps as you and to my ears, my deck sounds great. Vinyl quality does vary hugely even when new, but I would check your cart alignment, etc first. Lack of oomph could be down to the fact that CDP's have a higher output than decks...
