Yes, they are definitely original Tannoy 611, not the MkII. Very good speaker, upper driver is dual concentric midrange/treble, lower driver is bass only. Bi-wireable too with a very clever sliding link built into the terminals. They do need a very good amp though, sorry but the Kenwood...

Might be looking to upgrade to a pair of very high studio monitor quality stand mount speakers (£2-4k+). High sensitivity, high output (I like it loud), to go close-ish to a wall (12-18"), paired with my Linn Majik DSi Streamer Amp and Linn Unidisk 1.1 SACD Player. Not changing the Linn items...

What! No Linn Streamers. Have the What HiFi reviewers gone deaf or fallen out with Linn? Surely the Selekt, Akurate or Klimax deserves a place in this list. I have a Majik DSi Network Streamer. It is at least as good if not better than half the ones on this list and it has a superb power...
