Yes, those of us who lived through the LP era understand what a joy CDs are. It seems ridiculous to want to return to that primitive era. Good riddance to LPs. I'll never listen to LPs again.

If you want to get decent sound from records, you need to spend a lot more than $300. There is no point otherwise. You can't even buy a decent cartridge for $300. An old CD player will give you better sound, for $150.

I have had more experienvce with "vinyl" than you ever will. I had 1200 LPs when I got my CD player. I sold almost all of my LPs right away. I held onto a few of them for sentimental value (they were collectible) but the last of those were sold last year.

A turntable should come with some instructions. Nobody is born knowing all about them.

Yamaha NS-1000M speakers are impeccable and readily available in the second-hand market. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

"Resolution" is not the answer, it's recording quality. CDs are more than capable of delivering anything one could want.
