Nope, this player doesn't and won't have Dolby Vision. I asked the Sony rep at the Bristol AV Show. If it did I would have bought it for £280 with their discount! Matt

thank you both. I've been told that the Pioneers higher up the range (with Class D amps also) have a better, less harsh sound than the lower models. I.e. the SC-LX79 etc. Perhaps my RS demo wasn't tuned or refined properly.

@ Oldboy: Any further updates on the sound of the 7011? you still happy with the purchase? @Scene, nice to know that the 7009 is sounding good as you have a similar setup to me. I still have an STR-DB940 and I missed the 7010 at Peter Tyson around Christmas. Now waiting for the 7011 to come...

I've been looking at the 501 too and believe it is not a replacement for the LX59. The 501 is a 7.2 amp with 120W per CH @ 11.8kg. The 59 is a 9.2 amp with 190W(6ohms) per CH @ 15.3kg. Looks like the 701 is the replacement for the 59, as it is a 9.2 amp with 175W(6ohms) per CH @ 15.8Kg.. not...

Hi Dave I have a Sony STR-DB940 and feed it with 5.1 Analogue from my Blu-ray Player which is the BDP-S5000ES. The Player decodes the sound including the HR Lossless formats, DTS-MA and Dolby TrueHD. The Optical feed would pass the Basic DTS and Dolby surround, but not the Lossless audio...
