I listened to the June Tabor album before work this morning Macspur; you're absolutely spot on. The album is beautiful and the production is very, very good indeed. Thanks for the recommendation.
Hawkwind - Space Ritual (Particularly any of the re-issues that included the live version of You Shouldn't Do That). By a big margin my favourite live album.
Led Zeppelin - Royal Albert Hall (From the DVD); yes I know not technically an "album" but Zep at the height of their powers (IMO)
Rush...
I had a problem with this too. Windows 7, 64 bit. I used the System Restore facility to go back to the previous restore point and then didn't re-update Itunes. Working fine following that. I'm hesitant about now updating again unless Apple have sorted their problem out.
Yep - Audio Counsel. However, they are now on the outskirts of the borough of Oldham in Diggle rather than their previous address in Cheadle. I have popped in there and they seem a very nice, very accomodating company.
The other alternative is to use a Squeezebox Touch. It can be connected either wirelessly or wired to your network in a similar way that other people have mentioned with Airport Express. The only downside is that Logitech have stopped producing the Squeezebox so that it may be difficult to pick...
Mission 70's.
Mordaunt Short 902i Avant (still own)
B & W CM1's (still own)
Kef R500's (current).
Are there speakers you regret getting rid of? No
Have you disliked any of them? Not at the time. I was happy enough with the CM1's until my brother asked where the bass was.....Kef R500's...
Optimal transient here too. I have used the Optical Spectrum and though I can't hear any difference I do tend to find that the Optical Spectrum is more tiring to listen to; it's harder on the ears.
I think that the manual says that the differences are subtle but I'm damned if I can hear any...
Funny, I found out about John Martyn through reading Rebus books and also looking at Ian Rankin's "playlist" on his website!
Like others though, my muscial tastes have broadened quite considerably over time. I was very much a heavy rock fanatic - and still am. Hawkwind, Zeppelin, Floyd...
I have a pair of CM1's that I'm about to sell. I've absolutely loved them (that was until I heard a pair of Kef R500's at 3 times the price!). I can't comment at all about the differences between British made and Chinese made. However, I will say that the mine are absolutely immaculately made...
I recently heard the KEF R500's on the end of a 8200CD and 8200A and it sounded very good indeed. Detail was excellent, and the bass was surprisingly strong but well controlled given that some reviews I've read suggest that this might be a weakness of the 8200A. I would imagine that the mono...
Burning Shed - run by artists for artists, being their slogan. Lots of progressive stuff there. A small hi-res section for FLAC downloads. Delivery is brilliant. Never had a seconds trouble. Apart from that Amazon and Ebay.
Hi mbinz, I'm not really sure as I wasn't there (I was at work). However, it has happened to me a few times and it's distorted sound rather than pure white noise. I probably hadn't picked up that you also have the problem when changing between inputs. I can't say that I've come across this...
I have found that this seems to happen if you turn on the Audiolab and then turn the K2 on. So now I turn the amp on, let it fully power up and then turn the Audiolab on.
I was phoned at work by a panic stricken wife one day with exactly this problem; she thought she'd "broken" my pride and...
I've had the Audiolab 8200CD for perhaps 6 months now; it has been used every day since purchase and I have yet to find a disc that it hasn't read - yes including carefully burned cdr's. It's a wonderful piece of kit - even my other half likes it as she can listen to Spoitfy through it via...
