Finaly; i have bought the Kef R500

See what Covenanter says about Marantz amps for his Kef R700. I can't find the article because the search facility does not seem to work for Forum items anymore. Perhaps you could send him a private email. Kind regards, Long J

Experiences of Bluetooth aptX please ...

Dear all, Is AptX really any good? What about the Kleer system. Nobody talks about it any more, but in many ways it's better. I use it on my Arcam rDAC. See this: http://www.dipecomm.eu/Kleer-Vs-Bluetooth I know this article does not refer to AptX, but many of the points are valid. KInd...

Marantz & Tannoy / DAC , SUB or SACD advice please.

Dear Lord, What about the older Arcam rDAC? I've had one for more than two years and it's served me very well. I frequently use it on wireless (for which it uses the Kleer system), and it works brilliantly. Just a thought, Best regards, John

How user-friendly is your streaming software?

Dear all, Comments on above: 1) I know mp3tag is free, but it's certainly not user-friendly. Surely there is something better... 2) I have the Synology DS213, not the DS213J. Does this help me in setting up audio playback? Best regards, LJ

How user-friendly is your streaming software?

Dear All, I'm a classical music freak too, and have loads of stuff recorded from the BBC Radio 3 website and other internet radio stations using iPlayer Converter and Replay Media Capture (used to be called Replay AV). The latter piece of software is superb and you can easily set a timer for...

Anyone know anything about the new Marantz PM8005 amplifier?

Dear all, Under the thread "Calling Pearl Lite amp owners" I mentioned the first user review I could find for this amp. I will give it out again: http://www.engadget.com/products/marantz/pm8005/reviews/110o/ It's fairly positive. Best, LJ

    Calling Pearl Lite amp owners

Dear Rick, In your first response on this thread you implied that it would be better to change the amplifier rather than the speakers, and now (if I read your sentence correctly) you say that you do not dislike the performance of the Pearl Lite. So what do you really think? I'm confused...

    Calling Pearl Lite amp owners

Dear Rick, My budget can extend as far as £3,000, and I am prepared to get second-hand equipment if it can offer a superlative musical eexperience. However, one great advantage of buying something new is that you get some cover from a guarantee. Best regards again, LJ

    Calling Pearl Lite amp owners

Dear Rick, I want to improve the sound of the system generally, and to obtain greater clarity for my listening. I am also hard of hearing and one thing I like about the Pearl Lite is the availability of tri-tone controls that would allow me to increase the amplitude of the midrange and the...

    Calling Pearl Lite amp owners

Dear Rick, I listen mainly to classical music, and my current amplifier is an Arcam Solo Mini with Monitor Audio RS1 speakers. Apart from CDs, my other sources are saved music files and internet radio from a media PC running Foobar, with the output fed into an Arcam rDAC. My listening levels...

    Calling Pearl Lite amp owners

Hi Rick, Sorry, but I do not understand what you mean when you say 'it should be the opposite'. Are you saying that the speakers are not the problem, and that one should be looking at changing the amp instead? I have MA speakers, and am interested in either the old Pearl Lite or the new...

Dear all, Any more comments on this, or will the thread die owing to complete and utter lack of interest? Regards to all who summon up the courage to reply, LJ
