    Question Wharfedale Diamond 12.2 + Marantz NR1200 ?

Those speakers are designed for larger rooms, as it says on the website. they have 6.5 inch drivers and are rear ported, you need a fair amount of space for those. If you read the manual it gives you dimensions of how far apart you should place them (2-4m), and how far from the walls etc. Tbh...

    Mobile headphone hassle

Reason I ask is because the tip of the minijack is the left channel, so if that breaks first it suggests the socket on the device is weak, just from having pressure placed on it even through normal use, it will bend the pins more

Is is the left channel that keeps breaking?

Could better speaker stands help tighten up bass?

Ear height is more precise, unless you have a very small head.... They are the correct height then, but I would personally be looking at some kind of isolation pads or slabs to get them off the floor

Could better speaker stands help tighten up bass?

If they are stand mounts then put them on stands. Tweeters should be at the same height as your ears, and both speakers should be angled to point about a foot behind your head. If you want a demonstration of what a huge difference this makes, Sit on your chair and then slowly rise up and sit...

I haven't listened to the 40/40 album so I can't really compare tbh, evidently there is a lot of audible difference between their different productions so I'll reserve judgement until I've heard the same one you're listening to I'm talking about the the original EBTG albums, on cassette tape...

Don't forget that she also weighed about 5 stone but just because you can't see her anorexia in the photos doesn't mean your eyes are defective. It just means the photographer did his job. A photographers job is to make people look good, a producers job is to make people sound good..... I don't...

Could better speaker stands help tighten up bass?

You should have used use the patented Atacama Atabites as filling. They are delta shaped to interlock together and are more effective in practise than sand, allowing your speakers to reach their full sonic potential. :tearsofjoy:

Absolutely yes. The only reason they remaster old records is to make them louder so they can release them again. Trouble with making it louder is the background noise also rises, so they then have to try and hide the noise that they have created somehow and this can lead to some interesting...

Could better speaker stands help tighten up bass?

If they are rear ported then you will have room noise for sure, it's just the way they work. I know B&W supply bungs with their speakers as a means of room control so you can tame the bass, perhaps the manufacturer of your speakers did too, check the box. If not you can buy them cheaply. Get...

    Sibilance

Why thank you! Haha The version you listened to is actually slightly different, it was a remix for 2004, apparently they brought the kick drum up more and added a lot more reverb to the mix, which would smooth out a lot of the harshness, so probably sounds better. Her drumming would have...

CD Player advice - Problems with Rotel Tribute CD11. What should I do?

Update: This one has started repeating the last track randomly again. How annoying. Right, call to Rotel and then a call to Richer Sounds it its then, can't live with this.

Could better speaker stands help tighten up bass?

Good solid stands are a great investment. Filling them full of sand or putting them on paving slabs could help with the isolation and tone down some of the resonance too. But be aware that what you are probably also hearing is the room. Anything below 40-45Hz is going to start causing room...
