Those speakers are designed for larger rooms, as it says on the website. they have 6.5 inch drivers and are rear ported, you need a fair amount of space for those. If you read the manual it gives you dimensions of how far apart you should place them (2-4m), and how far from the walls etc. Tbh...

Reason I ask is because the tip of the minijack is the left channel, so if that breaks first it suggests the socket on the device is weak, just from having pressure placed on it even through normal use, it will bend the pins more

You should have used use the patented Atacama Atabites as filling. They are delta shaped to interlock together and are more effective in practise than sand, allowing your speakers to reach their full sonic potential. :tearsofjoy:

Good solid stands are a great investment. Filling them full of sand or putting them on paving slabs could help with the isolation and tone down some of the resonance too. But be aware that what you are probably also hearing is the room. Anything below 40-45Hz is going to start causing room...
