I'm not too picky about the exact source device so long as it can stream full-quality files from Tidal and looks nice so it gets the approval of the spousal committee. A little hard drive for FLAC files might be nice, too, but not mandatory. We're trying to have this be a standalone listening...

Yeah totally get that. My wife likes the look of the Clear MGs... The Elegia looks like it's closed-back. Would like to go with open back for now. The Sennheiser HD 800s might work. Any others I should look into? OTOH, are there any other compact streamer/DAC/amp setups that might pair better...
