    B&W 700 Series

Thanks for that. May I ask how you know?

    Yep, that's what I'm thinking....

    B&W 700 Series

The original (very ugly) 700's were replaced by the CM series. B&W then replaced the CM's using the 700 designation again. The new 700 range are a direct replacement of the CM range, identical cabinets pretty much and hitting the same price points (allowing for inflation).

    B&W 700 Series

Absolutely spot on, I much preferred my CM8's to the CM8s2's when they were released, on looks and sound. The certain price increase isn't a major concern when you think about it, as whatever I get will probably stay with me for another 10 years.

    B&W 700 Series

I think new model releases are circa 6/7 years. I purchased my current B&W CM8's in 2011. These were replaced by the 704s2's in 2017. That's what making me suspect a new range may be imminent. It's not so much they're being discounted that makes me think that, it's the fact that stores like...

    Thanks, that's good to know.

    B&W 700 Series

Purely because I keep gear for a long time. Don't want to buy a model that's then replaced shortly after by a new and maybe improved version. I realise that newer is not always better, but it might be......?

    B&W 700 Series

I've been eyeing up the B&W 705 s2 Signatures as they are being heavily discounted at the moment, but it begs the question. Are they about to be replaced? Some dealers aren't showing the 700 series models along side the 800's and 600's. They are still showing on the Bowers website. Has anyone...

    R.I.P. Sir David Amess

He was my MP. Lived round the corner from me. Lovely guy, he really was as he's being portrayed. I had corresponded with him several times over a particular issue. Went out of his way to resolve it. Such a shock, really don't understand what's going on in this country anymore. RIP Sir David...

Thinking of getting a Naim Uniti Atom

You'll find the most immediate difference is an apparent looseness in the bass with the Atom. That's the most obvious thing that stood out for me. I now realize it was the Denon that had the bass all wrong, as when I listen to it now (it's used in my garden room) it has more of a single note...

Thinking of getting a Naim Uniti Atom

I had a Denon Ceol and have had the Atom since it was launched. Its lovely. The Denon sounds great, the Atom sounds great. The real difference is in how much you just want to keep listening to the Atom. You will not be disappointed.

Hifi but also rib shattering bass

I bet you argue with yourself...lol. You find one here, I couldn't compete with such a svengali..

Hifi but also rib shattering bass

It gives you a sense of that sub bass underpinning you only truly feel at live gigs. I'm not talking boomy over exaggerated bass. A sub brings an extra dimension without having to spend thousands on speakers and then most UK living rooms can't accommodate big floorstanders. A sealed sub will...

Hifi but also rib shattering bass

Keep the speakers you've got. Add a decent subwoofer, best upgrade I ever made.
