How long have you had the speakers? They would need at least 8-12 hours to run in and get the best out of them Also what tv do you have as some will alter the eq on the optical out and also have a speech mode which might be worth checking?

I agree, terrible customer service from Panasonic. It's funny as was looking on eBay last night and they are selling official refurbished stock on there direct now, makes you worry how much faulty gear they are manufacturing with the amount they have for sale.

Have you tried putting it through a dac - I use a arcam rdac and makes a big difference on my system when I connect the usb from my laptop to it

or get a sky now box for £10 - would add iplayer, 4od, five on demand and any sky stuff you want to subscribe to.

I use airfoil for windows - costs £20 but you can then stream anything on the laptop to one or multiple airplay speakers. The other option might be bluetooth but not sure if your laptop and or the denon has that built in.
