So - got CEC working properly, but lost sound to the Arc ... reset Arcana and back to square one - sound to Arc, but no power on CEC. Will start adjusting individual items in the menu and see if trial and errror can narrow the fault down.

Good suggestion. Tried it without the HDF in the chain - and CEC worked fine. Have now narrowed the problem down!
