    I smell trouble....

Have been thinking exactly the same - as a loyal Sonos user in multiple rooms / homes for 10+ years - that WiiM is more likely to feature in the future. Especially, if they start mimicing the Sonos approach to products (soundbar, surrounds, etc). Price point and features is just far more...

Using a soundbar as a HiFi setup have you?

I would only use my various soundbars for casual listening. Anthing more than that and I'll use the stereo system. Would I go to stereo system for home cinema? Not right now as I've installed home cinema surrounds / sub etc, but as I've posted on a different thread, if I could get a 3.1...

    HiFi as Home Decor?

I use the Primalunas in the public area of my apartment as an element of them is for show. But they are working dogs as such.

    Question Wall mounted speakers?

I haven't audtioned as have the Oberon 1s .... but they were purchased with a compromised setting in mind. That was what I was getting at - you're almost trying to solve for the impossible.

    Question Wall mounted speakers?

Dali Kupids come with wall brackets in the box. If you can live with the "compromised sound" and accept that, there is no drama.

Question My first audio system, please help.

I would have you builder install two ceiling speakers (I used Cambridge Audio Minx C46) and run the cable to where you intend your electronics to be. Then you have the option of A/V Receiver with 5.1, or (like me) run a Sonos Arc and amplified surround speakers. I'd also suggest (if budget...

Question My first audio system, please help.

If you want my (brutal) honesty. Overkill for the space. I'd go 5.1 with the ceiling speakers being the surround. But that's me. If you have your heart set on such a set up, and the budget to match it, go for it.

Question My first audio system, please help.

An alternative, but at best would be 2.1 would be something like a WiiM Amp Ultra with some Dali Kupids. You could ask the wife what colour she would like!

Question What is your best HiFi Bargain

https://6moons.com/audioreviews/ae2/wifi.html Acoustic Energy internet radio - nearly 20 years ago. Got me into internet radio - and most importantly, Radio Paradise.

Question My first audio system, please help.

Listening area is approximately 4x4 if I'm reading the plans correctly. My advice would be to get a Sonos Arc Ultra; and to the extent you can wire in speakers by virtue of the new build status, a couple of in ceiling surround speakers fed by a Sonos Amp. To the extent you have budget / feel...

    Wireless HDMI Sender

Cable is bvggered, but sensible me (read: my installer) put a Cat 6 run in - so have purchased a Cat 6 HDMI extender and will give that a go as first crack. Second crack will be to run a non-optical HDMI cable as it should handle the distance.

    Wireless HDMI Sender

Cable has ceased to carry a video signal. I am going to try and "reverse" my set up so the cable only has to carry audio and see if that buys me some days/weeks/months.

Side By Side Comparison Naim v Lyngdorf

I also wanted to connect my TV through whichever network streamer I chose ... whereas the Lyngdorf requires an additional unit (around £500, from what I was told). Not a deal breaker, but worth noting. The Lyngdorf DOES NOT require an additional unit to connect a TV

    Wireless HDMI Sender

Situation is that the fibre optic HDMI cable between source (Apple TV) via HD Fury Arcana and the projector has stopped working after c. four years. Routing another cable is possible, but so was parting the Red Sea. Net net, can anyone recommend a good / great wireless HDMI transmitter /...

Side By Side Comparison Naim v Lyngdorf

    I think they are fibbing about the Lyngdorf: Digital inputs: 3 x Coaxial digital (≤192kHz / 24 bit), 2 x optical digital (≤ 96kHz / 24 bit), 1 x USB C (≤192kHz / 24 bit), 1 x HDMI 2.1 eARC (≤192kHz/24bit) There is a two in / one out HDMI module that you can add: The HDMI 2.1 module allows...
