I have a WiiM Mini into a Topping E30ii DAC ... so somewhat like what you are thinking. If I could do it all again, I'd have just purchased the Pro Plus in order to get a one box solution. But then again, maybe the WiiM Ultra ;-) If the cash outlay is the same, go the Pro Plus.

As an update - loving the Dali Oberon 1s on the end of the PrimaLunas. SWMBO commented that she thought it sounded far better than when paired with the Oberon 5s, but listening is a little more "near field" than previously, so that might explain it. In due course, I think I'll try the 1s...

TST - the only way I can answer you is indirectly by saying that I regret selling my Neat Iotas.

Just a thought - should we not all group together and buy a single sheet, cut into 2x2cm square and each take two ... placed directly in our ear canals?

WiiM Ultra plus dedicted power amp would have been fantastic. In a PERFECT world a 3-channel power amp so as to use it for AV.

I have two sets of Sonos Connect - which are more than adequate for their use - surround speakers; and kitchen speakers ... but wouldn't choose to use them in a dedicated stereo set up.

I bet - do the 3s require three times the amount of grovelling I had to do in order to be allowed the 1s?

Dalis have arrived and been connected. 10 minute listen (it is a work day) suggests the 1s go better with the tube set up than the 5s. Let's see in due course.

I think the same in reverse - in the WiiM App you need to select "optical out".

Pulled the trigger on Oberon 1s for €299 delivered to my door. Will return once I've set them up and had a listen.

Lack of context or parameters gets me ... but biggest annoyance is statements of fact when it should be opinion.

I think I might be tempted by the WiiM Amp Ultra .... maybe. That said, I've dug the Naim out (as mentioned on a previous post) and am loving its sound and it does what I want, so not sure a change / spend is warranted.
