FWIW my Naim Uniti Lite (1st gen) is going strong as a streamer some 15 years after I purchased it. Ironically, it is the CD drawer that is problematic.

You don't need another DAC as long as whatever is giving you a digitial output (i.e. the streamer) can connect to the digital input of you amp.

I don't think you can beat the WiiM eco-system as a streamer and then add whatever flavour of DAC suits. My mini works wonders and no need for ethernet.

That's the one I would pick as the visual asthetic is lovely in my view. I think you'll get warmth to both the sound and the living room.

R2R would make my tube system seem even warmer, so I don't think it is a starter for me. Pity as I'd like to get their R2R DAC with the VU meters as that would be cherry on the cake from a old school looks perspective. I'd like to see if there was noticeable different between my Topping E30II...

Also consider the Shanling CR60 and / or Tangent CD player if you're looking for an affordable (?), small size, CD player.

WiiM Amp mounted to (via vesa) the tv or behind the tv feeding two Dali on-wall speakers either side? Just a thought. Or satellite type speakers if you could use a sub somewhere?

Two stations getting recent play for me are: 1. Radio Paradise - Rock Mix; and 2. Hotmix - Country Both for background / guests over / working as opposed to "serious" listening (not that I do much of that).

Just in case anyone comes across this post in the future and has the same issue an "old" Naim Uniti Qute achieves the same outcome - as it is totally remote controlled and has no buttons on the front panel. It was another option that flowed through my mind.

PieterG - thank you my friend - I now have a sensible solution: WiiM Pro Plus into Power Amp into Oberon 1s.

It would seem strange that the provide the "switch off buttons" on the Mini, yet not on the Pro Plus. Any Pro Plus owners able to check the app for me?

Thank you both - it's the small human enjoying the knobs on the Primaluna pre-amp! It would be in the app - device settings - hardware with a toggle for touch controls. That is where it is for my Mini and just wondering if replicated for the Pro Plus.

Question: is it possible to turn off the front panel buttons on the WiiM Pro Plus? I know you can on the WiiM mini (as I have one) but was hopeful someone could confirm re: Pro Plus? Thank you in advance!

I would have said the WiiM UX (interface) is one of the best around. But just my opinion.
