The Neil Young controversy proves no artist is bigger than Spotify – and that's not a good thing

What a shame - Neil Young caves to the almighty dollar god. He should still be protesting that lowlife nutjob Joe Rogan. Probably the same dim bulbs that listen to Joe Rogan use the el mucho cheapo crappo Spotify.

Vivid Audio’s majestic, 13-driver Moya 1 speakers promise "thrills at every octave

Well - this is now my pick for the ugliest speakers ever made. It was the Monitor Audio Hyphn speakers, but these are even uglier if that is possible. And for over $500,000 USD! I don't care how rich you are, you'd have to be a complete nutjob to buy these.

Got a spare $128k lying around? Nagra's luxury Reference turntable might be for you

OMG - 128 Thousand dollars for a turntable to play scratchy, crackling, popping old fashioned platter records. There are no words for how stupid this is. The thing is, there are people who will buy it. Although not many. I guess if you are rich enough to throw away 128K, go for it.

Tidal is changing its pricing, and for once, it's good news

Great News! I have the 20$ a month plan so it will decrease almost 50%. Can't complain about that. I guess Tidal is trying to siphon users from crappy Spotify. Changing to Tidal is pretty much a no-braIner if you ask me. We'll see how long it lasts.

iPhone 16: release date rumours, spec leaks and what features to expect

This is one reason why Apple is a Trillion dollar company. These Apple-Heads who can't wait to throw their money at Apple every time they release something. With the iPhone 15 barely 2 months old, the Apple crazies are already speculating on the next version. I heard Apple is talking about...

What Hi-Fi? Awards: 26 Product of the Year winners announced for 2023!

Really? This is what you came up with? :(

I think Netflix and HBO are about to change the streaming TV market forever - here's why

Nobody Wants commercials. Streaming services were a sigh of relief - to get away from TV with commercials, but it seems we are headed back in that direction. Cable TV is out of control with the never ending price increases and junk TV, and Paramount+ is now showing the first 3 John Wick...

Spotify's HiFi tier could finally be about to launch

What a joke. Spotify is the last streaming audio service to offer Hi-Res audio - Maybe. They have been dorking around with this for years and still nothing. And if they are going to charge 19.95 a month - get Tidal - far superior to Spotify.

A new Xbox Series X is coming next year and it could be another nail in Blu-ray's coffin

Hardly seems worth upgrading. Nothing very compelling here. And not a fan of the cylindrical design either.

MQA has been saved from administration

This is great news !! Thankfully, Apple did not buy MQA - that would have been a non-starter for most people. And the idea that "Most audiophiles where hoping for a swift death for MQA" is absurd. MQA is an excellent streaming format that brings very high quality audio to the masses. I hope...

Apple could supercharge its hi-fi offering with one simple step – and it involves MQA

No way. If Apple became the owner of MQA it would lock it up in the Apple ecosystem, which you would have to buy into - to use/listen to MQA/SCL6. That would be a non-starter for a lot of people. As mentioned in your article, 4 out of 5 people don't use Apple products. Tidal should buy MQA...

Disney Plus takes inspiration from Netflix with price increases and ads

These streaming companies better be careful. With all of these price increases, people will start thinking, "Do I really need this?" and start deciding which streaming services they need to drop. I know I will. I have several steaming services and they all have either raised prices or are...

Class A, Class A/B and Class D amplification: what does it mean for amplifiers?

No mention of class G? Some of the higher end receivers use class G like the Arcam AVR31 and the JBL SDR-38

The worst thing about tech products (and the best thing about proper hi-fi)

I say go for it. I used to have a ton of record albums, but they are long gone, and I have no desire to go back to the hiss, crackle and pop of vinyl. However, if vinyl is your thing, then go for it (but not because Steve Jobs liked vinyl). I do agree about our high tech "just not working"...

Hi-res surprise could cement Tidal as the audiophile’s choice – but there’s still one big deterrent

I would agree about Tidal. It is by far the easiest to use, the most titles to choose from and is the only service to offer MQA files. And if you don't think MQA makes a difference, just listen to an MQA song on Tidal, and then switch over to another streaming service and listen to the same...
