    freesat box, which one ?

I have a Foxsat-HDR and can confirm that it will record two channels, whilst allowing you to view another simultaneously. It does, however have a captured mains lead, not a detachable "Figure of Eight" type. Whilst I am very pleased with it, I cannot confirm whether it does the same as a Sky...

    Onkyo/Panasonic volume problem

Subject to your TV being ARC capable, you do not need a digital optical cable. Your ARC HDMI lead should be connected between the "HDMI OUT" on your Onkyo and the appropriate ARC HDMI connection on your TV. Make the appropriate settings on your amp (see page 57 of the Onkyo instruction manual)...

    SACD Compatible 3D Blu-ray Player

Dear All, Thanks for your suggestions. On reflection, I think I will go down the cheaper Blu-ray (Sony BDPS480 or 580) and replace my A/V receiver with a Sony STRDH820. Happy New Year to you all.

    SACD Compatible 3D Blu-ray Player

Bigboss - Many thanks - I will have a look at both of them.

    SACD Compatible 3D Blu-ray Player

Does anyone know whether there are any reasonably priced (up to £300) 3D enabled Blu-ray players, that can also play SACD's, on the market that have either 5.1 analogue audio or twin HDMI outputs, for use with my ageing A/V receiver? Any help would be appreciated.

can i connect a humax hd to...

On a similar theme, does anyone Know whether you can scart a Humax HD Freesat receiver to an old CRT TV and be able to use the SD iPlayer function (or can this only be achieved through an HDMI connection)? I have emailed Humax with this question, but did not get any response. I would be...

OMG, my very first real amp and my first ever post! Question regarding speakers!

Congratulations! For my money, rather than spend £200 on a pair of Wharfdale 10.1's (very nice though they are), I would go for the 9.0's and add a pair of stands and some decent speaker cable (no need to go barmy - even spending £2.50p a metre at Richer Sounds will bring a noticeable benefit...

    Bluray schmuray

If I may add my own (hopefully objective) general observation to a, seemingly, very contentious subject. My son connected his SPS3 to my Toshiba 42Z3030 TV and played the Blu-ray edition of The Island, running it in tandem with an SD version playing through my Pioneer DV-600AV. We were...

    Multi channel audio out

Whoops - sorry pardon. I meant the Pana DMP-BD50!!

    Multi channel audio out

Might be safer to go for the Pana DMP-BD350, as I think that model has 5.1 analogue outputs and can decode both Dolby True HD and DTS HD.

    Pana bd50 or ps3

Andrew, Many thanks for your advice. Sorry for sounding a bit thick, but would HD quality audio still be achieved, when playing suitable audio encoded BD DVD's, when utilising the 5.1 channel analogue connections between the Pana BD50 and my Sony STR-DG700 a/v receiver? John H

Hi Andy, Many thanks for the info. John H.

    Pana bd50 or ps3

Is it true that the Pana BD50 can feed all HD audio codecs through the 5.1 analogue outputs? I ask this because its operating manual on the Panasonic website seems to suggest that these are only obtainable through the HDMI output. I have a Sony STR-DG700 receiver and use the 5.1 connections from...
