Some of the best sounding cost no object amps are integrateds theres no writen in stone fact seperates are better at all but if lots of power is wanted then power supplies get massive and so does heat so placing parts in seperate boxes can help in that regard.

Well my point is 24/96 music has been available for years on blu-ray already so whats the difference between BD-A and HFPA.

That patricia barber blu-ray i linked above is 24.96 and when played through coax out to my m-dac the m-dac shows 16/48 on its display and its hard to rip a blu-ray so for streaming i used a Sony digital recorder fed from the blu-rays analogue out and recorded at 24.96.:)

My guess is your smaller speakers are sealed boxes and the new speakers are ported. If the records are warped a ported speaker will do as you describe and this is why some phono stages have a warp filter that cuts off the low bass. You will get the same effect with cd if you try and play deep...

Not all active speakers have the power amps built in and imo its best to have external power amps. The active Xover doesnt need to be inside the speakers either.

The M-dac is digital only preamp i have 2 analogue sources aswell as 3 digital ones that is why i use the AS Passion.
