Gotcha. That makes sense. I use Crown amps to power my subwoofers now, so it wouldn't be to much to snag a second one, and use the amps' passthrough to effectively bi-amp the mains. Would net me around 1250W RMS up front. :-)

I've got the aforementioned AVR and am looking to replace a pair of entry level Polk speakers with a better pair, and they allow for bi amping. This AVR is already is a 5.2.4 configuration. Is it possible to simply add an outboard amplifier to the RCA preouts for the mains and it work that...
