Focal Aria is an interesting suggestion. Relative unknown to me. High sensitivity I see, neutral sound with is good in combination with the Rega I guess.

Auditioning is indeed difficult these days. I appreciate all the input. The intention is to use the Rega combo for some time, so I am searching for the best speaker match without overshooting the budget amp. All the other tips (like upgrading source and application) Consider in the future.

Almost all speakers you can buy in the UK are available in Belgium. Prices here are generally the same or a little bit lower here.

I read good reviews on the q acoustics 3500, dali oberon 5, Wharfedale evo 4.4 etc. Can i do better since i am willing to stretch the budget to 2000 and eventually 2500-3000 euro?

For some reason I prefer floorstanders. Speakers have to be a step up from the old kefq7’s but they should not overshoot the Rega equipement wich i intend to keep a while.

They are pretty far away from thé rearwakl They are pretty far from the rear wall (0.5m) but close tot the side walls. For concentrated listening I can bring them before the couch.

The harshness isn‘t that disturbing, guess it is also the recording and the high pitched soprano and tenor passages.No clear difference between CD and FLAC (CD better sounding than FLAC over bluesound over Rega Brio 😉). Do you think new speakers can better this?

Listening to the CD, should I try the Flac version stored on my Bluesound vault?

Listening space 5x5m oak wooden floor ceiling 3 m, this space is open to diner space 6x4 m. Listening to CD for classical music and jazz, for radio and other genres (spotify, internet radio) I use the bluesound node attached to the Rega Brio. Budget 1000 to 3000 euro.
