Thanks to all above - I was just playing it 'safe' and didn't want to lose or damage anything that I have spent the last week (!) archiving to a WD My Passport UBS drive. What you all say makes sense - I suppose that I just wanted to have 'confirmation' of what I was suspecting anyways. Cheers :)

How do you 'safely' disconnect a USB from either machine? I can't locate any disconnection details in the manual.
