That's true, I have a Cambridge Audio Amp (640v2) and when I was looking inside, I've seen a terrific cheap electronics made. For example one of them are the Opamps, made by a very good microchip maker like Texas Instruments but in this case the Opamps that Cambridge puts inside are very cheap...
