Thanks everyone for the help. I think my problem was that after having owned flat screens only, changing to the curve would be a big thing. I've always preferred the curved screens aesthetics wise but was unsure weather it was a 'fad '

decided on 55 inch, now its a choice between the js8000 which is flat or the js8500 which is curved, both the same tv. Just weather curved is a better choice than flat, thanks for the input

Room size is 14 x 12 ft Viewing distance about 6ft Tv would be down one of the 14ft walls with the sofas perpandicular down each of the 12 ft walls

I'm still thinking that the 55inch will be overpowering for the room, I'd love it but I just think it might be abit too big, would you recommend the 48 inch version?
