Rega Elicit mk5 4ohm: overheating is real 😟

I use my Metrum DAC more than any other input and this has balanced outputs as well as single-ended. So, to me, the balanced connection option on the S2200 amp was worth paying extra for. Plus, I got this for a good price due to distributor needing to shift stock in NZ.

Rega Elicit mk5 4ohm: overheating is real 😟

My Rega Elicit has now been sold and my Vela 407's are now partnered with a Yamaha A-S2200 integrated. Similar power rating to the Rega, but the speakers have a lot more punch now. The Yamaha just seems to have better current delivery, and the speakers are now sounding like they did when I...

Rega Elicit mk5 4ohm: overheating is real 😟

Now on my second Rega Planar 3 T/T (my first, bought late eighties, is on long-term loan to a friend) so I am a bit of a Rega fan-boy. I even have a copy of Roy Gandy's book. So I want to let a company I respect know about this problem with a product of theirs that I like. I even tried to...

Rega Elicit mk5 4ohm: overheating is real 😟

Greetings from down under - Palmerston North, NZ. I have owned an Elicit Mk5 since April last year and initially used it to drive 8-ohm speakers, PSB Imagine T2 towers. Happy with the sound, and I preferred the sound to a Naim pre-power combo (ex my father) which I later sold. A year back I...
