I meant that it would be a way to justify the spend to get DRC in the shorter term but it seems that DRC is only on AV Receivers anyway, so maybe that makes sense.

If it weren't for a lack of DRC I wouldn't be looking to upgrade but I guess I could look at it as a step toward having a dolby atmos setup one day. I don't want to compromise on the sound quality of what I currently have (see first post) though. So I'd be more keen to ensure equal or improved...

@abacus Thanks - yeah my understanding (which may be flawed) is that loudness is basically a bass and treble EQ boost whereas DRC is more like compression. Loudness may still be the closest thing though for a normal amp from what I can see is available. My new-ish TV (LG CX) doesn't support...
