Leaving Sky, Now need new PVR box

Have you considered Freesat via Sky? It isn't free but it is inexpensive and would save the cost of a new PVR.

Freeview HD PVR - Digital Stream DHR8205U

Hi Prof, I'd be interested to know if you installed and whether you have experienced any problems as a result. When I download the update instead of the 10 files mentioned, I get 11 including a 2.1a hex file which is not on the list within the instructions. Did you install that one too? Thanks

    New Olive??

Hi Reinoud. The Olive site has manuals for the O3 & O4 here: http://www.olivehifi.com/uk/contact/product/olive4olive2.html. Click on support and product information and you want the Maestro Guide for how to do all the editing via PC or Mac. All you need to do is get the IP address of your...

    New Olive??

I bought the O3HD shortly after it came out and am very pleased with it. I had researched it well enough and new the plus and minus points and to be honest, for me there were few minuses because most of what is omitted, by comparison with the O4HD, I didn't need. It might have been good to have...

    surge protection help needed

I would think twice before replacing one problem with another, potentially more serious one, that your present set-up avoids. It all depends on how many items that you run at the same time and how much power they consume. By combining all the equipment onto one 8 way extension socket, you run...

Yamaha RX-V3800 - does it exist in black (in UK)?

Just got mine but not set it up yet (until finish redec tomorrow), but it does say on the box "HDMI 1080p Video Upscaling"!

    DIGITAL DIRECT

Ordered mine on Tuesday evening and delivered by CityLink on Thursday, so no problems with DigitalDirect. Not sure about the legality of the returns policy. If they supply wrong or faulty goods, can't see how you can be held liable for costs in any way.

Anyone know a good site where i can Buy Black Plasma Cabinet ?

I don't know what style or price band you are looking at Jason - these things can be really exhorbitant - but I have just seen a black cabinet advertised on John Lewis Online clearance for £249, said to be half price!

Pana DMP-BD30 v Pana DMP-BD50 for DVD playback.

I don't have too many music DVDs but that is a good one in a relative sense. As long as you are ready to skip all the really naff stuff ( about 50%) it is excellent, even though it is Fleetwood Mac! I take your point though.

Pana DMP-BD30 v Pana DMP-BD50 for DVD playback.

Hi Pete, Sorry for the delay in replying to this, I just haven't had any time to myself for the past week - so no time to really get to play with the BD50 either! I am just about to start updating my system and I put my name down for one of these with no real expectation that it would actually...

Pana DMP-BD30 v Pana DMP-BD50 for DVD playback.

Got my BD50 on Thursday but shamefully haven't had the time to really play with it yet. I did do a very quick comparison against my Denon DVD3910 using 'The Aviator' (crash scene) and my first impression was the BD50 was better or, at the very least, not inferior. Hoping to have a bit more of a...

Exclusive review of the new Panasonic DMP-BD50 Blu-ray player

Any idea how long it usually takes from release to actually get into the shops? Even Amazon and John Lewis weren't listing yesterday so 10 June sounds unrealistic.
