    Help - Yamaha AS501+YBA11 vs Marantz PM6005+???

I would take the Q Acoustics over the 11L any day. Have you heard any of the Q Acoustics speakers? The old receiver is compromised because it's a receiver. A standalone integrated amp will be far better and that's a fact, not just my opinion. As for a Bluetooth receiver to use with the PM6005...

Never been a better time to buy vinyl

Doh. I like most genres apart from rap, hip-hop, free form jazz and opera. Oh and Jimmy Sommerville. :D

I didn't say everything else was rubbish. I was referring to my local record fair. I listen to everything from AC/DC to ZZ Top. Classical too.

Do some voluntary work there and grab the bargains first if it troubles you that much. As I said, I'm a music and vinyl lover, not a bargain hunt lover. I do find the occasional good buy in charity shops but it's increasingly rarer these days.

That's a silly and childish sweeping statement. I listened to Testify on Spotify yesterday and won't be buying that album and his other later ones. Not sure what happened to him with his later solo output.

I'm glad you agree with me.

Never been a better time to buy vinyl

All rubbish to me. I could cut them up into some artworks. I've seen that done with 50p bargain bin records before.

I won't be spending much more time on here. I've tried again but have been quickly met with daft comments from entrenched members who cannot tolerate anyone having opposing views. In the 5 minutes it took you to write the above comment, you could've read through 2 or 3 pages. I'd say it's more...

In all the time I've been posting on forums, that has to be the daftest comment I've ever read. Well done.

Never been a better time to buy vinyl

1697 posts going back to 2013, cheers. :) The days of buying valuable old vinyl for peanuts are gone. Amazon marketplace sellers, discogs sellers, ebay sellers, etc. - all savvy. Maybe there's still the odd local house clearance you can spot or the various job lots on Gumtree and the like. If I...

For example? Name three albums I've missed over the years.

Never been a better time to buy vinyl

This is not the case at my local Oxfam music and books store. Their records are priced from £1.99 and only records in good condition and upwards are in the racks. ATEOTD it's up to you to inspect the record and make a judgement on its value to you.

Never been a better time to buy vinyl

The days of buying valuable old vinyl for peanuts are gone, You are fortunate to have a local source of cheap records but it all depends what they are. Near me there's a record fair once a month or so and ever time I go I come away with nothing because I already own all the decent titles and the...

Never been a better time to buy vinyl

If it's a rarer album they will. As one example, in my local Oxfam, I've seen original Beatles mono pressings, with tatty covers and well played or even scratched vinyl, still priced highly. They mark defects on a sticker on the pvc cover so you know what you're buying. If you see a record...
