Arcam A19 enough for ATC SCM11?

Just a marantz NA7004 streamer. Wouldn't mind getting something a bit more up to date though.

Arcam A19 enough for ATC SCM11?

I did actually own the LS50's for about a week, when I first bought my R100's. In situ at home, I really didn't like the LS50's. While they were more open, detailed and taut than the R100's, the lower treble/upper mid glare and forwardness was grating. The quality of the treble was good, but I...

Arcam A19 enough for ATC SCM11?

Thanks. I already have an Arcam a19 and Kef R100. Was considering the ATC's as an upgrade, and would audition, but thought I'd canvass views first on whether it would be a wasted exercise/travel, due to lack of grunt.

Arcam A19 enough for ATC SCM11?

I'm considering a pair of ATC SCM11 speakers. But would the Arcam A19 be pretty underpowered (and underwhelming) driving them?

    Kef R100 vs LS50

LS50 are definitely more accomplished technically in a number of departments. But they definitely have a different presentation to the r100s. As previously mentioned the deal breaker for me was the ''lifted'' lower treble, which (to my ears) made them too bright, intense and uncomfortable to...

    What a difference!!!

Glad you've found a significant improvement! How would you say the toy towers differ to the kefs? I've had my eyes on them for a while. Specifically, how do the highs compare?

Stands for KEF R100 speakers - help please!!

I use nexus 6, does the job and the silver ones really look the part with piano black speakers!

    Floorstander Upgrade Time

Indeed, the kef r series are renowned for the very things you're looking for. I.e . Warmth, lots of detail with a huge and precise soundstage. From what I've read it seems sf venere may be warmer in the lower mid, but will likely extract less detail and have less precise soundstaging than the kefs.

KEF LS50 vs Mission SX 2 (FIGHT!)

Glad you came away happy. Out of interest, bass-quantity aside, what other traits did you prefer in the R100's compared to the LS50?

    Disappointing first hifi experience!

Certainly try the Kef R series (R300 I'd assume for your budget) if it's more bass you're after. The bass they deliver is very fullsome, far more than I expected. To put it into perspective, my R100's deliver far more powerful bass than the Epos Epic 2's I used to own, the latter of which are...

Recommendations for decent value, non-bright CD players.

Thanks, probably makes sense! Will save money at least. I'm waiting for Arcam to release a streamer, but the Marantz will do for the time being... On the subject of streaming, do you know if it's possible to play spotify through the NA7004? I have tried via laptop and got nowhere, tried with a...

Recommendations for decent value, non-bright CD players.

Never had a proper CD player and getting a bit tired of playing CDs' through a (very noisy) Toshiba dvd player into Marantz NA7004 streamer. So I thought it was about time that I bought a dedicated CD player to play my approx. 200 CDs. Priorities are: 1. Not bright or edgy (leaning more towards...

We are our own worst enemy.

A lot comes down to personality too. I have always been rather picky and particular, over analysing, with all sorts of things in life. Perhaps even having a slight tendancy to focusing on the negative too much. While there can be some advantages to all that, it does lead to never feeling...

    Kef R100/R300 question

A lot of people feel the treble is smooth and a bit rolled off if anything - but I'm interested - what speakers that you've auditioned would you say are not overdone in the treble in comparison to the R series? As for bass - on the whole I think it's pretty good. But in the same room...

    Kef R100/R300 question

Cheers CNO! I'll invest in some of those for my R100's.
