I think there seems to be agreement that the Oppo is an excellent blu-ray player and great for all things home theatre related. I'm just curious what people think of the Oppo 105 as a DAC as compared to an Audiolab M-Dac or a Rega DAC etc?

I've been reading a lot of very positive reviews of the Oppo 105 and it's DAC. If you believe even half the press, it sounds like it's almost rendered stand-alone sub £1,000 DACs obsolete?!!! Has anyone really compared the Oppo DAC to the best sub £1,000 DACs?

Yes, I believe so, which is why I think I'll be able to get a new one (surplus stock) for the same price as a used X power.
