What's you internet connection like?
I thought Netflix lowered quality of audio bitrates and video quality to the bandwidth to prevent stop/start video.
Best to concentrate on one source for now imo.
You can consider cd and lossless files as one for now. Streamers/dacs match the quality of a cd player ( plenty of threads to look at, won't go into it here ) so for now a dedicated CD player is probably not needed. Also sounds like your vinyl...
Don't discount some of the 'All-in-one' systems available. With the uptake of digital most have you covered for a variety of sources.
A Marantz M-CR603 is a excellent system, and you could then put more money towards the speakers.
The 510 has positioned itself as a good option for those just wanting streaming. Tunein App and Airplay for any radio neeps too.
What's the price of the 510?
The USB on the back is a small but very welcome addition also.
Hi davedotco,
What do you mean by digital volume control? I am considering some active speakers and intend to control it via an iphone with airplay adjusting the volume using that rather than on the actives.
Is there potential for damage?
Thanks
I think Battlefield 4 was shown on PC hardware masquerading as PS4/Xbox One rendering.
May I ask why you went for the Xbox One. It's taken a fair battering in the media, I'm interested to know the reason for your choice? Not decided myself so far.
Didn't know about the new Yamaha range until you mentioned it. I have had a few listens of the old line for a computer system. I was mainly looking at the 50s but the 80s were excellent.
Are you turning it into your main system? Be interested to know about the sound from further distances...
Might want to take a look at the
- Nuforce Icon-UDAC2
or
- Audioengine D1
+1 for the suggestion from Overdose. I've seen people using the Yahama hs50m with Focusrite products too.
Thanks, my concern was that I couldn't see anything offical from MS and was putting it down to poor reporting across the board assuming it would paly movies.
They mention the 3D unconfirmed so guess regular was confirmed to them.
Just to be pedantic, has MS actually confirmed it will be able to play Blu-Ray movies?
So far I have only seen them say it has the drive which could be limited to games given their ever increasing size nowadays.
Easy to assume but if it could play Blu Ray movies they would surely mention it as...
I would prefer that when it defualts to the itunes volume setting rather than it's own it was less than half rather than more than half. Quite a loud instant change in volume is very unpleasent. Is it bad for speakers too?
Of course I should try to remeber everytime but I'm not always the only...
