The bestest, smallest, budget bookshelf speakers?

Kef Q150 is pretty decent for the money. Some people thought they were too bright, but others thought they were warm?? Everyone has different ears, best to try them first, you can usually listen to them for at least 30 days, but run them for about 12 hours a day for the first 6 days to get...

Neil Young - Some suggestions please

So far I haven't, I assure you. I'm not going to buy a record that only has 1, 2, or 3 songs on the entire album that I like, to me that's a waste of money. I've seen artists that put on a record and I only liked one song on the entire recording, after I did that a few times I have all but...

Neil Young - Some suggestions please

I am NOT a collector, so I really don't like buying a theme album, and Neil Young is the same thing, you buy a theme album and end up only liking 2 or 3 songs on the entire album, just seems like a huge waste of money. So I have Neil Young's Greatest Hits, and I like every single track on that...

    Snake oil etc

there's another snake oil, you don't need a professional to clean your ears out either simple wax removal liquid and a ball thingy to squish warm water of of that they sell at drugstores does the job just as well.

    Marantz PM 55

if you bi-amp, you typically send one amp's output to your woofers, which have been disconnected from the existing speaker's passive crossover. The other amp would be fed to just the remaining drivers. You would need to use an active crossover to do lo-pass / hi-pass split of your preamp out's...

    Marantz PM 55

If you have bi-amp capable speakers, you could buy the Cyrus, get the Marantz fixed, and then you can have one amp going to the bass, and the other going to the mids and highs, the sound would be much improved, of course, that assumes there's nothing wrong with the Cyrus of course.

    Marantz PM 55

That is what is known as a component repairable amp, I would look into repairing it if you like the amp a lot, it would be a lot cheaper than buying a new one. Just find a Marantz Authorized repair center and take it to them, the worst that they'll say is it can't be repaired, but techs who...

    Snake oil etc

They used to have a band that slipped onto the outside edge of CDs, the thought was that the added weight would make the CD spin smoother, nope, that thing didn't work either. This sort of green pen, or band stuff and people believing the stuff made their music sound better is nothing different...

Best phono preamps 2020: budget to high-end

I agree with others, the Gram Amp is a piece of junk, I tried it and immediately knew it was junk so I sent it back. Instead got the Schitt Mani and it sounded better than not only the Gram Amp but that's no big shake because that Gram Amp would have lost to any $20 preamp, but it also sounded...

    Cyrus CDi

I have read on other forums that slot cd players will scratch the CDs, will the Cyrus be guilty of the same thing?
